despite the stereotypes about the girls that work in brandy melville, i've surprisingly never had a bad experience until today. while my mom was waiting her turn to try on a pair of sweatpants, this redhead girl working the dressing room completely ignored her despite the fact that she was first in line. she told the customer behind my mom that a dressing room was ready for her. the nice girl behind my mom pointed out that she was ahead of her, and the redhead then proceeded to give my mom the nastiest look up and down before showing her to a dressing room. after my mom went in, she overheard her say to a co-worker that she doesn't think she fits into any of their clothes anyway. it was the rudest and most mean girl thing i've ever experienced with my own eyes and ears. i usually love this store and have had only good experiences with the people that work there, but this was just horrible. i came up to the girl after and told her that in the future, a good tip is probably to not insult the customers right in front of them. after i walked away, i saw her standing with a few other girls that work there, whispering to them and looking confounded about what i just said to her. it was so ridiculous and usually i take the high road on this kind of thing but honestly. how evil do you have to be to comment on a mother's body? i honestly feel sad for her that she has nothing better to do in her life. sincerely hope the girl reads this and reconsiders how to treat other human beings or faces some kind of consequences for her behavior, but i doubt either will happen because 1. i doubt she has ever spent more than 2 minutes of her life thinking about the kind of person she is or wants to become and 2. i'm assuming that kind of behavior is excused in that store, based on the look of her fellow employees when she was telling them what happened. wish i could give 0...
Read moreThe clothing might be adorable and loved by my daughter, but the store associates leave much to be desired. Interestingly enough, I did watch the documentary on Brandy Melville and someone commented about store associates being rude and looking down on those who shop there and that it was acceptable behavior. We were in the Westport store on Sunday June 16th as we are in town for college orientation. When we walked in , there were about three young women unboxing items, setting up clothing and jewelry, one manning the register and another by the fitting room. No acknowledgement and when I said 'excuse me' to an associate so I could take a better look at a pair of earrings-she almost glared at me, sighed heavily and didn't offer assistance. The young woman by the fitting rooms was extremely rude to my daughter when she was asking if there was a fitting room for her to try on her clothing. The store associates were all talking loudly between each other and critiquing TikToks or Snapchat messages and absolutely dumping on some poor girl at a recital (who has posted photos). My 18 year old daughter had second hand embarrassment for these associates. The only acknowledgement was from the store associate when we were purchasing items. Brandy Melville is a very popular brand-however their reputation leaves a lot to be desired and visiting this store just reinforced all the negative press in general and from the documentary and the store associates in Westport are very poor ambassadors...
Read moreIf i could leave a negative star i would. I was there with my friend the other day while the little divas were updating the tables. These girls were disrespectful from the second we walked in. As we’re walking through looking at the clothes, we have staff walking right through us as if we’re not even there. There’s a girl facetiming her friend. There’s girls giving you looks as you look for stuff on the tables their updating. Not to mention there are girls updating every table so it’s bound to happen that someone will want to look at something on at least one. As if that wasn’t unprofessional enough, I was walking by a table looking at one of the sweaters & one of the girls say in a rude condescending aggressive way, “BYE” to deter me from looking & ruining their piles as if it’s the customers problem that they are updating tables during the day. As someone who used to work retail, i understand its super frustrating when customers ruin tables but never have i ever been that blatantly disrespectful & also i know what i signed up for. So, next time I go in there, (bc i will for sure be back for the clothes) & i get an attitude from a single worker or treated like anything other than a customer, I will request names & i will make sure there is A LOT more folding to do then the...
