UPDATE: I ate again at nômade 2 nights ago, and I can see why it is sometimes so difficult to get a reservation on the day. It is just the most zen and gorgeous restaurant in the tri state. The decor and ambiance never fail. It transports you to another place. Spectacular. An absolute 5/5 or 6/5. If I could give the decor here 6 stars I would. Nômade sets the absolute bar on both ambiance and decor, not to mention comfort. The fires were lit inside. I noticed them as I walked through to the incredible very high ceilings of the large bar out on a stone terrace. Stunnnning. We had a cocktail and a mocktail at the bar as we arrived early and waited to be seated at our table. The restaurant was jamming. We arrived at 6.30 pm. The bar staff were friendly tho certainly busy. Something I have noticed as I’ve been there to eat often and now in all seasons. It feels like 3 restaurants in one. The big bar area is lively and beautiful. The entry bar is small and cozy while the dining room with its 3 fireplaces is cozy, elegant and warm. We were shown to our table bang on 7 pm. We were only 2 unfortunately so we chose carefully because we wanted a bit of everything. We shared the crispy rice with tuna. The coquilles st jacques appetizer. We split the pork belly bao buns which were just WOW. Both incredible. Oozing with flavor. We then for our main course had a chicken with hot peppers and potatoes in a caper sauce, which was divine. And shrimp and grits( best I’ve ever had) We ordered a cheese plate for dessert and a chocolate mousse. Our food was flawless. The service we received perfect.
Having eaten here 3x, I adore the food ! It’s unbelievable.. the Bibb salad is wowwww… incredible..my favorite one I’ve ever had… it is divine. By far the best in the area. The crispy rice spicy tuna… is to die for. So much better than anywhere else. Just like nobu. The wagyu insane. This restaurant just gets it. Ambiance, food and service. Off the charts. I hope other restaurants take a leaf from this amazing establishment. No complaints and my third visit.
Incredible new restaurant in Westport, Connecticut. We drove from New Jersey to eat here after they won “best new restaurant” in Connecticut magazine, voted I believe by readers. I can see why. The service, the food, the ambiance, all without fault. I wonder how many new restaurants will try to emulate your vibe. Please open one in NJ. It reminded us of places we have visited in Greece and the coast of Spain. We will be back for the spicy tuna, the steak frites, also wagyu, a treat, your goat cheese salad and your chicken paillard( I had it grilled) it was incredible. Everything on point. We spoke with a very charming Frenchman I believe his name was Patrick, he checked on us to see if we had enjoyed our meal, are you kidding me? It was magnifique. We cannot wait to return. And will spread the word. Nomade is the new “go to place” Congratulations and best of luck with everything. Just booked for next Saturday and again for...
Read moreWhat an exceptional dining experience we had at Nomade in Westport, CT! From start to finish, this spot exceeded all expectations. The warmth and hospitality of the owners and staff made us feel right at home. The menu, thoughtfully curated with a diverse array of options, not only caters to various dietary needs, but also delivers on taste and quality. Every dish we tried was not just delicious, but also beautifully presented. The ambiance of the restaurant is equally impressive – clean, tastefully decorated, and inviting, with ample seating options to suit any preference.
To kick off our meal, my sister enjoyed a perfectly crafted latte, while I indulged in their refreshing blueberry mocktail. The appetizers, including the spicy tuna crispy rice and edamame dumplings, were nothing short of spectacular. The dumplings, in particular, stood out with their delectable sauce, and the crispiest rice bites I've ever tasted. For our main courses, we shared the angus beef burger and the chopped salad with chicken, both of which were equally satisfying and flavorful. And let's talk about dessert – the croissant bread pudding stole the show! Served piping hot with a side of freezing cold vanilla soft serve, accompanied by a perfect espresso, it was the ideal way to end our meal on a sweet note.
Overall, Nomade left a lasting impression, and we're already looking forward to returning for brunch with our families. With its impeccable service, delectable cuisine, and inviting atmosphere, this spot truly stands out as a gem in Westport. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable...
Read moreI made a reservation, and when we arrived on time, our table wasn’t ready. We were told to wait in the lounge area. While we were waiting, several other people were seated before us. After 15 minutes with no update, I went to ask — and the hostess seemed hesitant, mumbling something about a high-top table.
We eventually sat and ordered. We encountered three different servers — all of them rude. The person delivering bread nearly threw the plate onto our table. The person refilling water was relatively nice. The main waiter wasn’t terrible, but he was clearly in a rush — didn’t ask about allergies or offer a specials menu.
My order and side dish came out unbelievably fast — within 5 and 15 minutes. I finished my dinner in under 20 minutes while asking twice about my son’s order, which finally came with no apology.
The food was mediocre — bland and flavorless. The only good part was the free bread and butter. We just wanted to get out of this unwelcoming place.
And when we left, the two girls at the reception didn’t even say “thank you” or “goodbye.” They just glanced at us. Honestly, it felt racist. We were the only Asian guests, and everyone working there was white. The vibe was completely unwelcoming.
We’ve traveled to many predominantly white cities and dined at fine restaurants — we’ve never been treated like this. You should seriously consider learning how to treat non-white guests with basic respect. What a terrible...
