Disappointing Experience at Glow Bar Westport - Beware of Poor Management

I'm canceling my membership and warning others after multiple disappointing experiences at Glow Bar Westport. As a founding member since their opening, I've witnessed significant declines in quality and service. (NOTE, this was a five star up until the last 6 months of decline)

Key Issues:

Frequent last-minute appointment cancellations or changes (4 instances).

Lack of regard for clients' time; Glow Bar changes appointments without permission.

Incompetent management fails to align staff with scheduled appointments.

Variable facial quality depending on the practitioner. Overpriced services (almost $100/month) for mediocre products.

Final Straw:

Today, Glow Bar unilaterally moved my appointment by two hours without consent. The receptionist (three weeks on the job she claimed, one would think correcting an appointment would be possible, this is not exactly brain surgery- alas out of her skill set ) was unsure how to resolve the issue, and Manager Stephanie's response was dismissive.

Glow Bar's poor management outweighs any potential benefits. Their inability to honor appointments and prioritize customer satisfaction makes them unreliable. On top of this, the facials are nothing special. I have happily used them as a monthly deeper clean for my skin, but as mentioned, if you get a bad practitioner, mixed with the bad management... total flop of a place. Consider alternatives before committing.Cancel on me once, fine, cancel on me four times? Why am I paying these people almost $100...

Updated Review (Feb 2023): 3 Stars Let me preference this by saying, I didn’t feel comfortable telling the facial lady directly during the facial because she was working on my face, I didn’t want her to retaliate during the process (not saying she would but just in case). I went back to this location for the second time today, and I had an unpleasant experience. The facial lady I had this time (I forgot her name) was nice in terms of bed side manners, but not good at the facial process. She was overly gentle. So gentle that I wasn’t sure she properly wipe product off my face. It made me want to wash my face afterwards incase of residue. When she was doing extractions, she only did the nose area and one single extractions on my left cheek. I’m not sure if she was just too lazy to do it or she was afraid of hurting me with how gentle she was being. During the extraction, I could not see but it felt like she was putting the extractions directly on the bed next to my head, not on a tissue or on the back of her gloves like other locations. It made me question her cleanliness. No points off for this because I could not see, and I can not confirm if this was truly the case or I was being paranoid.

Original Review: Staff was very friendly and the process was straightforward which I love. Parking lot right across which was super convenient. They do not do dermaplaning at this location which is a bummer (I suppose only the nyc locations). I would recommend Glowbar Westport for a quick upkeep...

Update Dominique is an amazing theropist loved my laser facial 2/21/24! I added new pics today! So here’s the scoop on the Glow Bar Westport, When I walked in I was greeted warmly at 9am in the morning wow how nice! Then I was directed to the sinks where you wash your own face and pat is dry with terrycloth face towel fancy. Then I was greeted by my therapist and she took me into a sanctuary simple no frills spa room and asked me to lay down. The facial was simple quick and relaxing. I definitely was glowing at the end whatever they use to moisturize sure does live up to their “Glow” campaign. So why not 5 stars you ask, well firstly the music was too loud and not spa like at all really rough playlist for a sp. Secondly the theropist was not clear about recommendations of facial products, nor did she ask me my skin concerns or skin type. Then at the end of the facial she awkwardly walked me out to a shelf of different products, pointed to an $85 toner and mumbled something again like I think this is good for you. I was so confused I turned to the cashier paid and tipped and ran outta there. All in all 4 stars cause mg skin felt and looked good and I did throughly enjoy the facial! I will go back also no one even asked me if I wanted to be a club member where I would get monthly facials. A miss on the sales end again. The picture was...
