I had a very odd experience yesterday with my mom and sisters. Long story short, I think they thought we were trying to steal! I’ve no idea why. We were browsing normally (it’s a large store with LOTS to look at), I grabbed an ornament to buy and was walking around looking at the clothes while holding the ornament in my hand. Saw one woman in particular following me around and glaring in my direction. Eventually another employee asked to take the ornament from me (but not in a kind way). I said that’s fine. I then got a shirt to try on and when I came out holding the shirt, one of the employees was literally looking at me with disgust. As if I was a thief! And that I was trying to steal one discounted ornament.

My sister also was getting glares repeatedly. Within 5 minutes of being in the store browsing, an employee approached her and said “you look lost”…what?!! She is browsing and shopping?! They treated us as if we were wearing ski masks and had garbage bags in our hands about to rob the place!

The most uncomfortable I’ve ever been in a store. I did buy the ornament AND the shirt. My sister bought over $200 worth of clothes. We both left and said we will never go back.
