I enjoy going to Aldi"s prices are very good. However, as much as I enjoy it I do not like when a cashier will sit and argue with you over a price tag. In fact, today I went and picked up some brocolli. The cashier did not have the correct code to enter and he tried to charge me .39 cents more than was indicated on the sign. Furthermore, I have had cashiers try to short change me at the register. So, now I have to check my change before I leave the register. I know it may only be a couple of cents here or there but multiply that by 3 or 4 hundred customers that go through their daily and the person is taking home quite a nice size tip. So, as much as I enjoy shopping there and the prices are fairly reasonable compared to other places you do have to be aware of the price tags and check your change before you leave. I don't know how to add a pic to the review otherwise I would have added the tag where it stated $1.45 not $1.45 per pound. While it may seem silly to some to post a review over a couple of cents. We work very hard for that couple of cents and every penny counts when you are on a budget. My husband was just in the store today and the cashiers continue to play games with customer emotions. While he was standing in line the cashier appeared to be opening up another register. He politely inquired are you opening up another line to which she put up her finger up giving an affirming nod and stated wait one second. My husband then moved to the line where she appeared to be opening and placed everything on the belt. When the cashier came back he stated to her are you going to be opening up the line to which she belligerently answered I never told you I was opening up. My husband then said to her you gave an affirming nod and told me to wait one second. I would have never put my items on the belt if you would have said no. When he looked to the back of the store three cashiers were standing in the back laughing. Apparently this is not the first time they have played this game on a customer. While their items are of good value their customer service is subpar to say the least. I used to enjoy shopping here. Now I only go if I...
Read moreI shop at Aldi's all the time, and Love Aldi's, but today was the first time I went to the one located at 2540 MacArthur Road in Allentown, Pa., and the Last time I will shop there. Today, I was shopping for the Storage Ottomans that were advertised for $19.99. It's a very good price for the quality of the product. I have bought 3 of them in the past, and today I was getting 2 for my daughter. I put them in my cart and went to the checkout line. I decided to leave them in the cart, since they were heavy and thought the cashier would use a hand held scanner on them. As I approached the register, there was the usual cart at the end, and nowhere for me to get my cart around. She shoved the cart out of the way, and I was then able to push my cart around to the side of the register. , DIANE(that was the name on my receipt) Barked at Me, "I NEED TO SCAN THEM!!" I responded, "I'm Not taking them out of the cart." Diane then proceeds to grab the one, slam it on her scanner and then , Literally THROW it back into my cart. I was Amazed at how Totally RUDE she was to me. I paid for my purchase, and before I left, I very calmly and nicely said to her, " I think You NEED to Adjust Your Attitude towards your customers." She just glared at me with a Disgusting look on her face, and Never So Much had Any Intention of Apologizing to me for her Rudeness or Disrespect. I don't know if you train your employees about Customer Service, or Not, but this particular employee Definitely Needs It!! I'm in my 70's and retired, but worked in Retail for 40 years, and I NEVER Would have treated one of my customers the way DIANE treated Me today., and if I Did, I Should have been FIRED!!! The Funniest thing of all, is that I'm now a part time Secret Shopper!!! I Truly Hope that The Manager of that particular store can have a conversation with Diane, and Explain what Customer Service Is, and she Won't Ever Repeat How She Treated Me, with Another Customer in...
Read moreA rude employee told me I could pay with card at a self check out machine and was pushy about me using a self check out machine. I specifically asked for an open lane with a person and she grudgingly called someone else to a different register than the one she had been at when I walked up to check out.
Look, lady, those machines give me anxiety on a GOOD day. I’m not having a good day. Your being rude didn’t help at all. Thanks.
Update: still one star, zero if I could: an employee and the manager harassed me about my service dog. She did not ask the two questions properly and I gave her more info than she needed AND I clarified for her that ESAs and psychiatric service dogs are not the same—service dog is in the title there. She still got her manager to harass me about it, and she wanted to know where the service dog vest was. We aren’t required to have any signage at all and I couldn’t bend to put it on today. I barely got my shoes on. Oh, and! The employee who harassed me left her huge pallet thing in the way so the aisle next to where she harassed me wasn’t even walkable with a cart. The cart did not fit through. And she left it unattended to go harass me and then to find a manager.
JayMarian has been the only positive interaction I’ve had with any of the Aldi employees in this store. She’s always fast, always kind. She specifically can...
