China Hut — Restaurant in Whitehall

I type this with a very concerned mindset as it pertains to this restaurant, China Hut preparing food for their consumers. Normally I am to eat Chinese food from China Hut, thinking and believing that this restaurant does everything within their best of their ability to prepare food while simultaneously understanding the importance of keeping the surroundings sanitary and safe to prevent a predicament from transpiring or potentially reoccurring.

However, on July 25, 2024, I received my food from a delivery order, the employee handed me the food as it is routine for that individual. I then took the food and open the cover that was shielded over the plastic container and took a spoon and ate the food. I was eating and eating not knowing something arbitrary and rather sickening was bound to take place leaving me disgusted to order from China Hut again.

After eating a significant portion of the food, exceeding over half of what was in the plastic container previously, I then figured out that something was in my mouth that perhaps shouldn't have been there. The object felt sort of solid and flexible with a pointy end to it. After the realization hit, that the object more than likely was not rice nor chicken, I then decided to use my index finger along with my thumb to take out the object and examine it.

After the examination, I then came to the conclusion that I nearly swallowed a fingernail. I spat out the rice that was in my mouth into the plastic container and placed the fingernail into the plastic container as well. I just want to emphasize that I do not believe that the driver placed the fingernail there. In fact, I do believe that the fingernail was partially cooked, leaving me to believe that the cook may have inadvertently place his or her's fingernail within my food.

Although after the discovery of the fingernail in my food, I surely was disgusted and furious; however, that shouldn't increase doubt over the safety measures of the preparation of food. But rather, this review should incentivize the cooks to do better on their preparation of the foods, because ultimately the best thing that should matter is the safety of the consumers as opposed to...

I ordered the same 4 orders I get once a week for the last year and never had any problems until now. My food was delivered I gave the drive a $7 tip as I always do. My food arrived warm after waiting over an hour and they forgot a whole platter . I call them and spoke to 3 different people for about 20 mins before they decided to send out another driver with the missing food. I ended up waiting 48 mins before the rest of the food was delivered. It was already 9 pm and I ordered all this food at 5:46pm. They didn’t even accommodate for any of the food. Not oh we are so sorry for our mistake so the platter is on us! Nope because they are the most greedy people here. No free soda nothing! So another driver finally shows up and he’s the original drive who always drops off the food so we know him. I take the bag from him and he straight out said oh so I’m not getting a tip!!! He’s lucky I didn’t throw the food at him. I said go fight the other driver for the tip. He should be fired! Let’s just say I will never order...

Editing bc it's been 3yrs and I'm still ordering from here. They knock it out of the park every time. Food is awesome, prices are good. Delivery driver is fantastic. We actually have a routine bc I have dogs, when he delivers, they start barking when he knocks, as soon as he hears me yell out, he puts the bag between my storm door and interior entry door and leaves. Even though I moved to Northampton my food still gets delivered quickly and is always still hot and fresh. They also accommodate my request of no onion in the rice. Love this place.

As it's my first time ordering from here, I went with the old standby Gen. Tsos. Chicken lunch special, and crab meat wraps. Food was good and delivery was early Arrived well packaged and hot. Just enough spice and full of flavor.. My only dislike was the onions in the pfr were too big, but not a big deal to simply pull out. This may just be my new go to Chinese place. Woman that took order as well as the delivery driver were both friendly...
