I had consumer cellular for 5 years with spotty service. I recently changed carriers which was 4 days into a new billing cycle. Consumer cellular does NOT prorate the final bill and the customer service representative told me that I would owe nothing, when I ported my phone number to the new carrier. Well, I owe $115. Nobody takes responsibility for misinformation by their customer service people. I was told that in April of this year they changed to a final billing process of a full month as a balance bill. I was told that I should have received an email outlining the change of service agreement. I did not get an email. I was told by a supervisor that it’s my responsibility to check on their website for changes in their service agreement. Well, if I wasn’t informed that the service agreement changed then how should I know to go on the website and check? Check monthly? With today's world & my age that racism starts to creep to a senior's thought. I'm ashamed to say this. It goes against what is truly in my heart.
