This is my second time at the At Home store and honestly, likely my last. While the store is very big and has a huge selection which allows them to carry not only seasonal items but a large amount of everyday home items, the pricing is problematic. First, clearance items. Itâs the end of the summer so many of their summer items are on sale. There are signs throughout the store indicating 50% clearance. There are several aisles that are marked as âallâ clearance and in others, the bottom row marked as clearance - clearly delineated. One of the aisles marked clearance (meaning every single row and shelf in the aisle had a clearance band on it, most of the items on the shelves had a 50% off red sticker on them and the aisle overheads said âclearanceâ) was garden and summer decor. Planters, garden signage, beach themed decor items, etc. I chose some small planters (pictured). The original price is $6.99, the new green sticker says $7.99, I asked an associate and they told me it would be 50% off the $7.99 price, which I was fine with. I get it, inflation, cost of materials, stores are dealing with a lot of variables so theyâve had to make price adjustments; itâs a reality of the economy we live in. So in the cart we go and off to the check out.
At checkout, items scanned as full price, manager was called to confirm, he walked me to the clearance aisle and acknowledged that everything in that aisle shouldâve been clearance AND that there were many other planters exactly like the ones I had selected (so it wasnât as if someone had chosen these elsewhere and placed them in the clearance aisle inadvertently), however he wouldnât honor the sale price. đ§ and I was understanding, Iâve worked in retail so I get it - people make mistakes, something couldâve gotten mis-marked or put in the wrong spot. Usually a store manager will honor the sale price if it is indeed a mistake. Not the case here.
That, in addition to the fact that many items are marked with two different prices, see a second example in my photos, means Iâll take a pass from coming to At Home...
Read moreWhen I walked in there I was totally at all on how big this store is. This used to be at Kmart and by chance I had work there and they completely gutted the inside so now what was like the Back store room and where Little Caesars was is all now retail space for shelves and racks. They even close the garden section and that added a lot to the square footage of the store. They have a lot of everything in quantities of household items for inside and outside, they got this please for Halloween and Christmas a lot of outside furniture as well chairs and wicker I only got through half the store cuz it was too much for me I'll have to finish the rest of the story another time It is well worth going in there to see what they have. There is just too much in there for me to list here so the best bet is to look at my pics and my videos of what I took of cuz that'll give you the best idea of what they have. They do have a lot of unique items like plants in trees in pots that could be easily transplanted to the outside world. For me the prices are high but but that doesn't mean for someone else it'll be what someone is looking for cuz everyone else has more or less cash to put out for things for their home so I'm not going to put down that prices that they have like some people are saying that they're overpriced. Comes down to what you can afford if you can't afford what they have in there. Then go somewhere else plain and simple that's what retail is all about. If I had the money to spend there I would definitely be buying stuff from them. The store is clean and without a doubt their shells are definitely stocked and well-maintained there's not a inch of retail space that they wasted...
Read moreCards or cash only no NFC. Customer service is horrendous. Informed The cashier prior to my over $1,000 purchase that I had a 10% off email code for signing up for their email list. She acknowledged that proceeding to ring up my order accessing my account using my phone number. Zero indication that she still needed the code acted as though it had been applied because I entered my phone number. Pay my bill look at my receipt no discount was applied.
Cashier claims she can return all the merchandise and then re-ring everything which would result in over $2,000 now being charged to my card until the first transaction falls off within 7 to 10 business days. So I contact corporate when I get home sending them a picture of my receipt and ask them to please fix the bill. 7 days go by with no response except for their automated system's generic replies. I message again and this time I met with a response to resubmit my inquiry to via email instead to a different address.
Meanwhile I receive another coupon in my email for even more amount off for some other new in-store promotion. This company has no customer service whatsoever. Make sure when doing any transaction you cross your t's and dot your i's or you'll get screwed out of money or have to jump through hoops to get your discount.
Side note check the merchandise thoroughly. We purchased six dining room chairs. When picking them out it looked like a scratch and dent discount store level of quality. Much of this stuff is clearly made overseas slap together and thrown on a shelf. It is unlikely we will...
