David's Bridal Allentown PA — Local services in Whitehall

Update: After speaking with Marie at this store to follow up on my previous review, we decided to re-visit the store to try on dresses again. We knew this wasn’t how David’s Bridal typically operated and were happy to return. Marie is amazing to work with and is truly committed to providing a great customer experience. Our second visit went SO WELL. Marie and Sarah helped us find some similar dresses to the one we liked during our first visit. They had great suggestions and were super attentive while my bridesmaid tried dresses on. We ultimately decided on the original dress we liked, but it was great to have such experienced and helpful sales associates working with us to find other beautiful dresses. HIGHLY recommend using this store after our second visit. Big THANK YOU to Marie & Sarah for helping us find the perfect bridesmaid dress!!!!

I went here with one of my bridesmaids to have her try on some dresses for my wedding. The people at the front desk were super kind and helpful. However, once they paired us with a consultant, it went downhill pretty quickly. When she measured my bridesmaid, the measuring tape was twisted and not in the correct locations. Then, after showing her some pictures of dresses from the David’s Bridal website that we wanted my bridesmaid to try, she pulled none of the dresses I showed her. We had my bridesmaid try them on but didn’t like any of them. The consultant continued to pull dresses of the same style. When I asked again if she could find the other ones in the screenshots I brought, she noted the style numbers and went to look for them. She returned two minutes later to tell us that none of them were in the store (I gave her 5-6 style numbers, so this didn’t seem right). I decided to go browse myself. I managed to locate 3 of the dresses I showed her within a few minutes of looking. I took them back to my bridesmaid and went to continue looking. This time, I saw the consultant’s “process” of looking for dresses was standing in the middle of the room, glancing around, and giving up. The consultant was clearly uninterested, seemed bored, and wasn’t helpful at all. The dresses we did end up finding ourselves we fortunately liked, but none of that was attributed to the consultant. UPDATE: The dress finally arrived in Florida AND THEY ORDERED THE WRONG SIZE!! When my daughter tried on the dress the staff at the Allentown store was asked to order one size larger than the one she tried on as it was too tight. She ordered a dress that was once size smaller than the one she tried in the store. She went to the David's Bridal in West Palm Beach, FL (40 minute drive from her home) and they confirmed that the Allentown store ordered the wrong size. The West Palm Beach store ordered yet another dress. If there were a 0 stars options I would chose it! Will never shop there again.

In March, I visited David’s Bridal with my three daughters, one who is the bride and two who are her maids of honor, and her bridesmaids to shop for potential bridesmaid dress options. The girls found dresses they liked and we placed orders. My youngest daughter (maid of honor) lives in Florida so we paid the shipping fee to have her dress sent directly to her as she would need to have it altered before the November 1 wedding date. In July, she still had not received the dress nor any communication from David’s Bridal to indicate the dress had been shipped. She called to inquire about the whereabouts of the dress and was treated rudely by the person who answered the phone. She was told the dress was delivered in June. She asked what address it was sent to and it was the incorrect address. After some discussion, it was decided David’s would order another dress. It is now the end of July and she received an email saying, great news, your dress has arrived…IN ALLENTOWN, PA. She was assured the Allentown location would now send it to her. Tomorrow is August 1st and she still has not received the dress. We are beyond frustrated and are considering purchasing a dress elsewhere at this point so she has time to have it altered and shipped back to PA before the wedding. Every communication with the Allentown store in this process has been less than friendly. Buyer beware. We will never go back! My son is getting married in May and we will be shopping elsewhere! 1st off kudos to Aneelia she is a button legend!!! and between her and the lady with the curly hair who checks you in, well they made my visits there.All the staff there are so immensely friendly and helpful. I came in a couple weeks before my wedding and they were super accommodating and I was even able to sneak my fitting in that day. The staff and willingness to work with me on short notice is the 4 stars. Here's my problem and this is just my experience. I wanted to get a dress online as I found so many that I liked, but sadly didn't know how they size. When I came in there selection of off the rack wedding dresses was slim to none. There were only 2 long dresses and all the rest were short ones. So I had 2 choices both of which I hated. The 14 almost fit but I couldn't get the top half buttoned so I went size 16. I was shown the 16 section. The lady confirmed that it was a size 16. It was really big, but I only had 2 dress choices so I got alterations done and after being charged HUNDREDS of dollars cause of how much needed to be done on my way out I looked at the receipt and it said size 18!!! With 3 days until my wedding I went to pick my dress up. The neck part fit beautifully. Sadly everything from the boobs, under armpits, and waist are still baggy. When she was originally doing measurements for alterations I can only assume that she was pulling more on the fabric so it was actually tighter when she was doing that then the final product. So I'm pretty bummed I spent hundreds of dollars on a dress I hate and alterations just for it to not fit right still. If it wasn't for the size mix up that cost me a lot of money and the lack of choices this would of been a 5 star because the people here are just so awesome. I highly recommend figuring your size out and getting the dress off there website than bringing it in for alterations as there are ALOT more amazing dresses on there site that are under $500.
