A few days ago my window air conditioner had blown the GFI on the separate 20 amp outlet on the electrical post which the park provides. I called the office to report it and a few minutes later Gerald came over and replaced the GFI outlet and breaker with new components. This was when Gerald was off duty and didn't have to come. But he knew it was an emergency and so he came to repair it. This is what I really like about Duck Creek RV park. The staff here will go beyond what other parks will do to ensure a good visit.
I want to commend Deborah, the office manager who was extremely helpful to me in solving many problems and Gerald, the park superintendent, for making this place the best run RV park that I have visited. Also kudos to Vicky, who is absolutely great and one of the nicest people that I have met in Las Vegas, Stevie, Kim, and the large maintenance staff for the wonderful jobs that they do.
I also want to thank the owner for the improvements that he has made to the park at enormous cost and the support he has given to the staff so that they can do great work.
This is an absolutely great park. It is extremely well run and the facilities are top notch. People have complained that the spaces are crowded together but keep in mind that this is a very urban RV park. It is not located in the middle of Montana. It is only a 8 miles from the airport and the Las Vegas Strip. It is also 2 miles from a huge shopping area which includes Costco, Lowes, Home Depot, Best Buy, Petsmart, Petco, and numerous restaurants. It is also very close to the Las Vegas Wetlands Park with terrific hiking and bicycle trails. There is also another large park next door.
The park rules are extremely reasonable and are common sense. Some people, who have left poor reviews, were those who were asked to leave for breaking park rules like trashing the facilities or other uncivilized behaviors.
There is a huge waiting list for getting into this park because people have heard what a great RV park this is. I have to agree. This is an...
Read moreHello Duck Creek RV park general manager, we apologise if we have offended you in any way, it was not our intention to hurt anyone. We were just trying to have a little fun amongst ourselves since no one, including children, were anywhere in or around the pool area. Yes we were hanging on each other and kissing one another and it may have offended someone. For all who may have been offended, we apologise. After the incident in question, we were gone for 9 days, forced to stay in a hotel due to the AC going out in our RV. When we returned to the park, we walked to the front office and retrieved the Amazon package that was delivered. Then we sat on a bench near the office and talked and smoked a cigarette. We never entered the pool again during the remainder of our stay nor did we even speak to anyone. The following morning at 7 am, you knocked on our door to serve us an informal eviction notice based on the incident in question, which was 11 days prior, and the one star rating (not review) that I left on Google. We completely abided by the "no pool privileges" rule, we never bothered anyone, so yes we were a little shocked by the eviction. Yes we did laugh at the situation because we really didn't think it was as serious as you obviously do. Again we apologise if we offended you in any way. I've been a manager for a long time and personally I would have handled the situation a little different, but I do think you're a good guy trying to do the right thing according to your personal beliefs. I do however believe it has been taken too far based not so much on the incident in question, but more so on the fact that I may have offended you personally and may have made you angry. If I have made you angry and offended you, I apologise again, because it was never our intention. You are more than welcome to call me anytime I'm actually a very nice guy to get to know. Thank you anyway for...
Read moreOn Tuesday, I called and made a reservation to stay at Duck Creek. On Thursday, when I arrived in Las Vegas, I learned that my reservation had been canceled even though I hadn't been notified of the cancellation. So now I'm in Las Vegas with no place to stay thanks to these guys. Did they apologize? Nope. I've stayed at over 20 RV parks in the past 2 years and this is the first truly bad experience I've had and the first negative review I've left.
To be clear, I don't have a problem with the reason why they canceled our reservation. I have a problem with the fact that they didn't tell us they had canceled it until we arrived in Las Vegas and didn't apologize for the inconvenience. Thankfully, we were able to find another place to stay on short notice just a few miles away.
My advice is to find somewhere else to stay.
Edit in response to owner's reply:
Several things.
My RV is 35' long with two slides. It is far from "small".
"Your reservation was not canceled , you never had one."
That statement is 100% untrue. I did call on Tuesday and made a reservation. I can screenshot the record of that call on my phone and email it to you if you like. I disclosed the size of our family at that time and was not told it would be a problem. The person I spoke with at that time confirmed over the phone that I was "all set". Somehow that reservation had evaporated from your system by Thursday.
No alternate recommendations were made to me, but perhaps they were to my wife. I've removed that portion of my review.
Like I said in my review, I "get" why you have the policy. I'm not disputing your policy. But whoever I talked to on Tuesday should not have told me I was "all set" and when we spoke on Thursday someone should have at least said they regretted...
