This Popeye's is near our home and has been our desired location of patronage.
When placing my order, I asked if the chicken could be "dropped" to ensure freshness and that I was willing to wait for the preparation and frying time necessary.
I was told by Cortez, the Team Member with no name tag that took my order, that the chicken in the staging area had just come out.
I noticed the heating lamps above the aforementioned area were off, causing concern to me regarding the "food safety" temperature for open air, staged food.
Cortez asked Melvin, the Cook, if he would "drop" our 16 piece classic chicken.
Melvin came to the front counter and asked me if four pieces of each was okay.
I said yes, as that was my expectation.
He asked me to allow seven minutes for my order.
In the past, we always ask for our chicken to be "dropped" and past outcomes have be seamless and perfect, taking about 25-30 minutes.
However, this time I observed Melvin selecting chicken in a covert and sneaky manner, from the unwarmed heating tray and RE-FRYING the chicken, self-boxing and walking the order to the front counter.
I have never received such "full service" from the backroom fry cook.
This seemed highly unusual.
I do not fault Cortez, as Melvin seemed to pull this gesture of bad faith, disregard for "food safety" and "food handling," as dictated by the Southern Nevada Health District and utter disrespect for a Customer.
His behavior and actions caused damage to the texture, shrinkage in size, taste, safety of the chicken and fulfillment of the Popeye's experience.
I did not dispute this issue at the restaurant because there appeared to be no Store Manager present.
I could hear the Team Members in the cooking area saying how cold it was back there.
If the warming lights were functional and the fryers going, it should be sweltering, even this time of year.
I would like a refund for the chicken purchased and discarded when I got home and discovered this issue.
We did consume the side orders with homemade cold cut sandwiches.
If I do not hear from Corporate and the Restaurant General Manager, I will inform the appropriate Health and Licensing Agencies in Clark County.
I encourage you to check your CCTV to corroborate my statements, the behavior and activities of Melvin and the non-working, food safety heating...

Even after new management with this place being a Franchised Business by the owner Ahmerian and after the new remodeling of the building it’s still BAD!
I spoke with the Manager on Duty Annalisa and complain to her about the service and the front doors being locked with a hand written sign that stated “Drive thru” and she told me sorry for the wait but “they were in a meeting”.
The service is horrible! Absolutely NO customer service experience whatsoever with the employees to even the manager on duty. I went on 1/21/24 around 4pm-4:30. Soon as you pulled up to the ordering kiosk they don’t greet you, I heard a few employees in the background (young men) talking about females who they were associating with in an unappropriate manner, I then stated “excuse me, can I order?” The guy stated “what do you want to order” I placed my order then all he said was to “pull up to the window” I finally got to the window after about 20min and spoke with the female manager on duty Annalisa and told her the situation.
This Popeyes Franchise continuously hire teenagers with no manners or home training. You’ll be waiting in the drive-thru or at the front counter for a very long time and when you ask them if they are going to take your order they give you an attitude and very rude service response. After the long wait to take your order they take forever to give you the food as well. Then when you finally receive your food, it’s usually the wrong order or they always forget something, like utensils, condiments, or a food item. It never fails! Very bad business! I highly don’t recommend this place! NEEDS...
Read moreHands down the worst Popeyes I have ever visited. The lady taking the orders through the drive thru let me sit at the menu screen for atleast 10 min before asking what i wanted. I told i had already placed 2 orders through the online app and just needed to pick them up. then she was rude and said pull up. When I pulled to the window she handed me 1 drink and 1 bag of food and said to hold on for the rest. 5 min later she hands me a small coke when I ordered Dp, I told her it was supposed to be Dp and she got mad and told me that the receipt says coke then looked at me like what now.. Finally I got mad and told her I asked for DP and that's what I want so she made a new drink and shoved it in my hand and said pull up front and slammed the window in my face. I pulled up front and sat there for who knows how long, I finally got out of my car and went up to go into the store and the doors were locked. It's 12:30pm no idea why they were not open, so I went back to my car and sat for ever waiting on the rest of my food when Finally the lady came out and shoved the bag in my hand and said "There's your food" and walked off. It's obvious that the employees here don't care at all about their customers, for it to be this bad I can not believe that the manager and owner doesn't know what's going on at their store so I believe they don't care. Popeyes quality has gone way way down but this store on boulder hwy and Russell road is by far the worst I have seen. 1 star is a great rating for this place, If there were negative stars I would have given them a -5 star...
