Overall: It was ok. Perhaps if I had chosen other entrees that were more popular? We didn't have any expectations but decided to try it due to the number of reviews and I like to support locals. However, I have to give my honest opinions. Ambiance: It is a small place similar to many other local restaurants so nothing to write about. It has enough windows to allow more natural lUmatilla. No background music. Service: This is an order and pay first so no wait staff. The food came out fairly quick even during busy hours. So no complaints. Food: The food really is a low 3 for the entrees we ordered. We ordered chicken wings, fried dumplings, and fried tofu for appetizers. These items were typical chinese buffet quality so I wasn't impressed. The mapo tofu was also ok. It didn't taste like bean sauce but more like sweet and sour flavor. The teriyaki chicken was probably the best amongst the entrees we ordered. The grilled chicken didn't have the char that I'mused to, but the teriyaki sauce made up for it. The fried rice that we added was bland and it didn't taste fried. More like rice with some added colors. The hot and sour soup that also came with the entree was better than the rest of the meal. Drink: No drinks ordered. The Bad: I hope my constructive feedback will help the restaurant succeed. One thing I would add to all entrees is, please add more flavor to most entrees. I felt like many items could use a little...
Read moreThis review is only attesting to carry out and the food that I ordered. We just moved to Wichita ("We" being the fiance and I). So we of course have to find a new go to Chinese restaurant. This place had the best reviews in the immediate area of our apartment, so we chose it. We chose the safe bets for us, because we were not sure if we should "step out of the box".
We purchased: Egg Rolls Crab Rangoons Lemon Chicken General Tso's Fried and Steamed Rice The egg rolls were good, generic egg rolls, hard to mess up. No complaint. The fried rice was different than I was used to, but once again, no complaint but nothing "wow". Lemon chicken is your standard unsauced fried chicken bits with sauce on the side, the chicken had a very oily taste to it and really threw it off when combined with the sauce. The General Tso's which I'm used to being fried bits in a sauce is kind of like a Moo Goo Gai Pan with a different sauce, and it tasted exactly like those frozen Chinese tv dinners that you can get at the store. The Crab Rangoon's aren't sweet-ish, but instead heavily salty (?). Overall it was just "okay" nothing to Wow me, nothing to get me to come back. If I go back it will likely be to try to find what people generally order to get such...
Read more**update after hearing about our concerns management contacted us to apologize. They explained the discrepancy as well as taking responsibility for making sure employees know how to inform customers of differences. They are making things right and because of that we will definitely go back.
First we have been going to Tasty House since they opened. We really like the food. Tonight we called in a to go order after looking at the menu online. First despite one of our entrees saying it came with rice and a side we were told it didn’t come with a side. Not a big deal, we ordered and paid for a soup. Then we when we picked up our order we are charged $2 more than the price listed for the same entree. When we asked about it and asked to pay the listed price she said “no we aren’t going to do that but I can take your food back”. Really? I can’t say the service there is ever great but that is not ok. Sorry to say, we are going to have find a new place for...
