In the past I would have given this business 5 stars. Since my last purchase there last summer it has seemed to have changed hands. The friendly folks that ran the place have been replaced by snobs that don’t want to listen to you if you are not dressed in your finest. My issue; I took a neckless that needed a clasp welded. Simple job. Had several done there before. Never a problem! I pick up my chain and I’m told that since it’s 14K “hollow” gold there is no warranty. Ok well you didn’t seem concerned when I bought the “hollow” gold chain in your shop a few years ago. So I go home clean the chain (NO! They did not clean my chain after repair) and I put my Star of David pendant on it. Our religious jewelry is sacred to us, right? Well the repair DID NOT HOLD! I have my once again broken chain due to shoddy work but my sacred Star is GONE! I haven’t spent a fortune in your shop but I have bought several pieces for my daughter and myself and had planned further purchases. I will be making those purchases elsewhere! Thank you for costing me $26.00 for nothing and $300.00 for my Star of David! I won’t be back. Just a suggestion, you are in Wildwood not Manhattan, adjust the attitude. We are so blessed to have such a unique and wonderful jewelry store in Wildwood! M.S. Brown Jewlers has been a staple of the community for years on Pacific Ave and adds so much to Wildwood and only one block off the boardwalk. It’s quite the experience, as a vacationer and now resident we have always been excited to do business with Jessica and her father Micheal. They are wonderful people and very knowledgeable with their clients on an array in the field of gemology and jewelry. They have some of the most unique and exquisite pieces. Plus they carry many items which can be personalized to one’s special occasion or trip to the shore. Recently, when we were looking for a gift to mark a milestone celebration for one of our children, it was a no-brainer where we would go. Jessica helped us make a great decision. The whole staff at M.S. Brown are exceptional folks to work with and always a joy to see. They are patient and give all their clients or potential clients personal attention. About two months ago, I went in alone to look around. An older lady was VERY helpful and explained the story of the store to me. She showed me a number of items, and I bought a modest set and promised to come back again. I went back a few weeks later with my husband to drop off my engagement ring for inspection/repair and possibly buy something else. (I don't make "big" purchases without him along.) Aside from taking my ring for repair, NO ONE wanted anything to do with us. One lady in particular seemed to be just restocking, but she had zero interest in helping us, even after I "hovered" over the counters a few times and pointed out some pieces to my husband. Several times, he asked, "Do they have any tanzanite?" and no one came to answer his question. I would almost certainly have bought something nice if I'd been treated like a valued customer, but now I never will. I guess I'll just shop at the jewelry store in Cape May going forward. It's sad, because this place is bicycle distance from our new home...
