I was there last weekend and spent 4 days for Rolling Stones convention and I was totally disappointed in all sorts of aspects at a hotel.
When I went to go to check in cuz I was sharing a room with someone the inept front desk manager told me that I would have to pay the rest of the bill before I was able to check in now my friend was in New York 4 hours away so I waited in the lobby from 10:00 in the morning till for in the afternoon. I politely asked where the nearest restroom was figured they'd have one in the lobby they did not The bar restaurant whatever it's called next door they were closed so I couldn't use that bathroom so I had to go down to the boardwalk and use the bathroom down there.
When my friend finally showed up we were very dismayed that there was no kitchenette in there like she had requested like she had done for the last 15 some odd years The room was definitely under construction and shouldn't have been rented out. I say this having formerly worked in the hotel industry but wait this story gets much better.
The hot tub didn't have any hot water at all it was cold and it was disgusting when I got out of it I should have taken a picture because there was just a residue a black film in there I can't think of when it was washed and I went there every day to look at it and it wasn't cleaned at all. One of the Jets was not blowing water inside the pool is more or less like a fountain but I figured hey when in Rome do as the Romans do so I just bared and enjoyed it not really cuz the cold water was horrible.
There was visible mold in the bathroom and the power in the place went out at least twice that I know about one time stranded about nine of us in an elevator and all though they did rescue us in the elevator after about 12 minutes it was still very annoying.
I realized that money is hard to come by The prices are going up but this place is really need some renovations immediately if not sooner.
At least four of my friends did have been coming there for years for that convention were shut out of rooms I have no idea why but I know the management did not lift a finger to accommodate anyone and that's just horrible. Another friend of mine got locked out of his room and couldn't find a door man person whatever could not find them for over 2 hours That's just horrible.
I feel that with a little TLC this place could be a lot better but I would...
Read moreI have never booked a filthier, more disgusting place to stay in all my travels that have taken me all over the world. There was an event that I was participating in, which is why I booked a room for 4 nights. Less than 3 hours after we checked in, my friend, who has Reactive Airway Disease started to have a serious breathing episode, causing her bronchial tubes to constrict because of the poor air quality coming from the filthy, moldy air vents. We explained the situation to the desk clerk (Julie) and we were told there were no other rooms available. We told her we could not stay because of her medical condition. We had to find another place to stay, or she would have ended up in the ER so she wouldn't get pneumonia. Julie said come back the next day and talk to Michael about receiving a refund for the 3 nights that we did not stay. We went back the next day and Michael said, "Sorry no refunds. Julie said you checked out early." I agreed, that yes, we had no choice but to leave because of my friend's medical condition. I was more than willing to pay for the first night because we had used the thread bare towels and had set on the polyester bedspreads so the room needed a refresh before it could be rebooked by someone else. Michael was arrogant and would not budge. He called his superior and he relayed his side of the story, which did not mention anything about the medical emergency we were experiencing. He just said "They checked out early and now they want a refund. I told Michael that I felt I was being treated unfairly because of our situation. I felt like getting a refund for the 3 nights we did not stay was the fair thing to do. But no, I ended up being charged over $800 for this skanky place. Unless your immune system is equivalent to Superman, I do not recommend this place. The Bolero across the street was clean, updated and very reasonable for the inflated prices they charge because Labor Day Weekend is a popular holiday for NJ because cold weather is just around the corner, and it gets very cold. The Bolero management also told us they get a lot of business from people who first book at Beach Terrace Motor Inn and cannot stand the filthy conditions, so they do exactly what we were forced to do. I will NEVER set foot in that...
Read moreStood here for 1 night , the location of the place is great for walking distance to the boardwalk ! But I will say that the service from DAN the “general Manager” and issues with this place was NOT great ! Upon checking Into my room it was NOT mentioned to me that THEIR POOL HAD BEEN SHUT DOWN BY THE HEALTH INSPECTOR this was brought to our attention by another customer staying there, you could not see the bottom of the pool!! When we decided to go for a swim and realized it was closed they sent us to their sister property to swim , we stood there for about 30 mins because There were to many people, we could not enjoy ourselves! On top of a strong smelled of pee in the jacuzzi as well as outside of the pool. I would NOT RECOMMEND….Upon waking up the next day I then noticed the very large blood stain on the mattress cover!! Which had only been found because the 3 other sheets they had tried to hide it with came undone in the night. When DAN was asked if he would be okay sleeping in this and he responded “He would not”. All we tried to do was get DAN to accommodate us for an extra 2 hours after check out so we could use the pool (which they had been cleaning out the whole day before) and shower after, we did not want to use the outside shower and then take a long trip back home which is what he told us to do. I then asked what can we do about a refund since he did not want to accommodate us for the inconvenience of having to walk 2 blocks to another pool that we couldn’t enjoy as well as allow a paying customer to sleep in someone’s bodily fluids ! His response was “you stood the night here and now asking for one” we initially did not want to cause a fuss but only wanted to use the pool before leaving and his main and only concern was worrying about how the maid will feel about it then the actual paying customer!! So on top of this place being DISGUSTING, THE CUSTOMER IS NOT ALWAYS RIGHT for anyone coming to stay here. That cover should NOT have been put back onto the bed washed or not. I stood in room 802 for anyone coming here. DO NOT COME HERE DAN did not really care about our concerns so I will be seeing if the health inspector can take another Trip there to see if he...
