Very disappointed and will never book at this motel again. Only positive is the location - walking distance to boardwalk. Cons- staff, including owner and his wife, were very rude. Owner acted like I was doing him a favor; absolutely no hospitality at all. Facility is old and run down. Ceiling was leaking, almost fell on puddle of water. Had to place towel on floor throughout the stay. Staff/owner could not be found on premises early Sunday evening/night. They did not answer phone and Lobby was dark, doors locked! We could not find a single worker to help us. I have never stayed in lodging facilities where I was left alone. I felt very unsafe!! Pool was closed the entire stay. When I did ask the owner why pool was not opened, he replied, "He must have forgot to open it" and walked away. Towels are threadbare, very old, Brown colored. No drying abilities. No housekeeping all weekend, even though we asked for basic services. Trash remained in our room for 3 days. We had to get our own towels from the front desk, which we were told we would get if we would wait, however, at that point, we didn't trust their services, so we sought our own threadbare towels. The room smelled of musky cat urine. The beds are covered with plastic which made a crunchy noise each time I moved, and no fitted sheets, so I awoke each morning on the plastic. Also, no individual room temperature controls, only an on/off switch. The owner controls the temperature. Toiletries consist of one small bar of cheap soap and cheap toilet paper. No shampoo/conditioner. No iron. No coffee. Just soap and toilet paper. The owner charged my credit card when I checked in. I realized why. Once paid, he offers no services, cares not one bit if customers need anything. He already got our money. You must pay for ice from the ice machine. It is not free. To sum up - never again. He...
Read moreI love this hotel and the location in proximity to the boardwalk. The owner is very nice and polite. He truly cares about his hotel and the maintenance of it shows. It is an older when you stack it alongside the numerous condos all around the area. There was a time hotels were more common and condos were scarce. Personally, i enjoyed those times more. As a child I loved driving through Wildwood and seeing all the lights from the hotels a very different feeling as condos became more common. Anyway, the hotel is a block from the boardwalk and the elongated beach. With a room facing the ocean you can have a stunning view of the ferris wheel. My kids were amazed last year during our stay. Once at the hotel for thr evening we had to keep the curtains open just for them to peer out. My husband and I stayed here once before in 2009 and it was just as amazing. The pool is beautiful to look at during the evening, if you don't get a ferris wheel view, with the moon shimmering on it. In the office there are booklets for things in and around the city. Feel free to ask the manager and owner what they like to do. Even though, I am practically a local I like to know what they enjoy. The rooms themselves are tidy and clean. The decor could use some sprucing up but it's not a factor in comparison to other hotels. There was both carpet and tile in the room. The closet was large enough for us to put all of our luggage there. The bathroom was on the small side but just enough for one person (I have 3 children who like to follow each other.) Even with the closeness of the boardwalk and cars, the evening was quiet enough to sleep comfortably. I highly recommend this hotel when staying...
Read moreVisited with my husband for 3 nights. Was looking for an affordable place to stay that would be clean and have general amenities, didnt need anything fancy as we planned to enjoy our vacation not hang out in the room. This place was fantastic. The room was what we needed. Beds, bathroom, more than sufficient air conditioning. They had a nice heated pool and 4 grills out by the pool for any guests to use, which I thought was great. Very family oriented place. Other guests were families of all sizes everyone very friendly. The staff was great, all very nice and helpful. I had to rent a mobility scooter for a disability and they were helpful in suggesting places as well as allowing me to keep it in the lobby to charge, and they kept an eye on it. Also anytime I came to the door riding it, if I was alone someone came out to open the door for me. They have an elevator which maybe doesn't seem that important but alot of places dont and trekkin' up 4 flights with luggage, or after a day on the boardwalk, isn't what I would call fun! Nice little arcade in the lobby and really conveniently located literally 2 blocks from the beacg, splash zone water park, and centrally located along the boardwalk. If I had to name something that was not the greatest I would say , they have a wifi password but no internet connection on it which was strange. Also we did notice when we were in the room that they have a bit of a strange odor. It's nothing gross it seems to be sort of a stale ocean air kind of scent that I'm sure just gets in the room after so many years near the ocean. So maybe consider some air fresheners . Definitely not a cleanliness issue rooms...
