I took my 78 year old Mother to the Williamsburg store on 6/14/25 to have batteries replaced in a bag of what I thought were fashion watches. The cost for the 7 watches would have been over 100 dollars so she decided on 3 watches WITHOUT the warranty. One of the watches was a Citizen Eco-Drive. The employee (maybe manager), I didn't catch his name but the receipt says David. He changed the rechargeable battery in the Citizens Eco-Drive with a Renata 317 battery, and set the watch. The rechargeable battery has a tab on it, there is no way he didnt know what type of battery was in the watch. This model watch doesn't have a second hand so my mother thought it was fixed. She paid for 2 watches, the third didn't work with a new battery. When I got her home (she kept the watches in her hand) we noticed that the time hadn't changed. Once I looked closely at the watch, I saw that it was a Citizens Eco-Drive. I called up to the store and spoke with Corey, he told me they DO NOT service those watches. They have to be serviced by a AUTHORIZED DEALER. He looked for the battery and it wasn't there. Now my mother is out of $17 dollars because the receipt doesn't specify the watch description ONLY the battery and she has to get the right battery( approx. 25-50 dollars) Unacceptable, he could clearly see what type of watch my mother gave him. If she decided on the warranty, he wouldn't of touch it. If you don't know what type of watch that you have, don't count on this store to tell you!

I can honestly say I walked into Batteries Plus completely misinformed about a battery purchase. I thought I knew what I needed, but I was quickly humbled by how little I actually understood. Thankfully, I had the pleasure of being helped by the store owner, Tish, who completely turned the experience around. Tish was patient, empathetic, and extremely knowledgeable. She didn’t make me feel embarrassed for not knowing, but instead took the time to explain everything in detail so that I could make the best choice. Her professionalism, kindness, and genuine desire to help stood out to me in a big way. Because of this level of service, I won’t go anywhere else. Batteries Plus has earned my trust, and I’ll always be a repeat customer at my neighborhood store. If you’re looking for great products and even better customer care, this is the place to go!

Having managed the Williamsburg Radio Shack for 13+ years. I can tell you if my employees and a Manager at that had handled a customer like this store did to me they would not be working for me. I went in with a working iPhone albeit a cracked screen and a faulty home button yet a working phone that I had been using just as a video camera only to be left with a phone with a video camera that doesn't work at all. The manager was rude and accused me of being a customer who lied (his words, "how do we know that the video camera didn't work when you brought in?") and was trying to get something for nothing, so much so in front of me said he was Numb to it all (Meaning he could care less) he also left the store after that comment to be taken care of by a very nice, professional employee named Amber. The manager actually left the store! Amber was trying to apologize on behalf of the manager and I explained to her it was not her place to have to do that. I requested the name and contact for the store owner and was told they did not have it however they gave me the phone number to the district manager Vicki. I called Vicki and pretty much got the response that she could not assist me or make right on the situation. She said she would reach out to the store owner and have them contact me...crickets! I then contacted Corporate and was contacted by Jenny and was just told that unfortunately if anything was to be done it would be by the store owner. From corporate they could not do anything for me. I was told that the store owner was going to reach out to me last week and this week and I have yet to hear from the owner. They refunded my money was told sorry! I had to go out and purchase a refurbed iPhone 7 for $329 to shoot a video project this past week, the repair and and screen protector was $120+. Please let everyone you know to stay clear of the Williamsburg store as their moto is "We are numb to it all"! Meaning if you go in with a piece of equipment to get repaired only to have them make it not work after the repair you out of luck, sorry! I would suggest you go somewhere else! Onto Facebook, Twitter, and this is going out to...

I had heard good things about the chain. I went into store Batteries Plus Bulbs Williamsburg, Virginia Store #662 on Feb 15, 2020 at about 1230 to request a new screen to replace the one I had broken on my phone. I was first approached by a nice young man who asked if I needed help. I told him what I wanted and he started entering info into the computer. He then asked me for my passcode. I simply asked him why he needed it to replace the screen. He said he would need it to verify everything worked after the replacement was completed. I said "Oh" and before I could give him the code or write it down for him another employee blurted out in my presence: "Oh, you know what, he gonna be one o'them [sic]. Just enter 'not given'." To which I replied, "I was about to give it to him." and the response from the other employee (the one not helping me) "Well, didn't he just ask you for it?" in a very sharp manner. At that, I simply stated that I would go elsewhere with my business.

I understand employees get frustrated and that customers can be frustrating but I wasn't rude or aggressive in my questions. You're asking for access to a lot of personal information and your customers deserve to know the reason behind the need for such access. The first young man was pleasant but the second employee did not need to involve himself. Our exchange was nearly complete and had I been given satisfactory service I planned to purchase an Otterbox and protective screen as well. As it stands, I will not return to this store (Batteries Plus Bulbs Williamsburg, Virginia Store #662) again for any reason. Your employees are of course free to act in a manner which suits you as the owner/operator, just thought you should know this particular gentlemen is driving...

The manager, was most pretentious, surly and did not even know the meaning of the customer is always right, even after he filled an online order wrong. Full of excuses and maddening to all in the store as he tried blaming everyone including the store system bar coding system and manufacturer because he did not read the order to fill fully. I ordered 3 packs of Duracell Led A-19 bulbs. He filled two with A-19s and one A-21 which is a much larger bulb. All was provided in a bag which I wrongly presumed was filled correctly so I left the store only finding out that eve that he I filled the order wrong making me return the next day to return or get a replacement/refund. He remembered me fm the day before because of his banter that I did not appreciate and did not want to engage him I was only in the store to pick up an online order. As I showed him the pack he acknowledged it was the wrong item but because the packaging was all the same color he said it was the manufacture’s fault for changing the internals putting the larger bulb in the same color box even though the package was clearly marked as A-21s. His attitude and constantly running his mouth only made matters worse. Instead of just saying sorry we do not have anymore A19 and issuing a refund he had to continue to blame everyone to include the store bar coding system when he obviously did not read the boxes he picked for the order. It was only after he had me so hot under the collar I asked him to provide me a refund and even that was an issue with him when I asked if he would need my credit card to complete the transaction. His surly attitude and belligerence was not at all appreciated nor will be tolerated for as long as he works there as I will take my...
