We highly recommend Duck Donuts for the donuts and the basic experience of seeing donuts made. It was great!

We were visiting Williamsburg for the weekend and had this shop recommended to us. We were not disappointed. It is a really nice simple donut shop that specializes in cake donuts (only). Each donut is made fresh and to order while you wait. They have picture charts for you to see and pick what you want. The staff is really polite, courteous, and takes a great deal of care to ensure every donut is exactly what you ordered.

It was great to be able to see the donuts being made. It brought back childhood memories. I smiled the whole time. You watch the donut machine squirt the dough, fry and flip the donuts and dry on the rack. Then the donut maker hand dips each one in front of you. They use quality boxes to keep your donuts hot and fresh. With COVID-19 they are extra careful about cleanliness and using gloves. There are only a few tables, 3 (Maybe 4) inside so there is no crowding. We had the sugar cinnamon, french toast, maple bacon, glazed, and a few others. We paid about $20 for a dozen and they were worth it. The donuts are a good size and are filling. We chatted with another customer that said she is there every morning to get a bagel sandwich and coffee. She ate her sandwich there and was happy when she left, just like we were. We ordered a dozen, ate a few in house and then purchased 6 more to intentionally take them to family on our way home so they they could try them for the 1st time as well. (We were not going to share ours, lol) We brought the rest of our donuts home for our daughters. The donuts survived our 2 hour drive home and our youngest daughter has been licking her fingers ever since! She ate my donut!!!

Been here 4 times, the first three times were delightful, today, not so much...

Hey there I was at your location in williamsburg today and I guess I was taking too long in the bathroom cause all of a sudden one of the employees comes pounding on the door, not just knocking, pounding like the police were gonna break down the door, honestly it scared the bejeebers out of me, scared me so much even though I thought I was done out came another squirt from, well you know where

So I finished up my business as quickly as I could, wiped up my mess(which seemed to be neverending) washed my hands and just as I'm about to open the door, here he comes again pounding away telling me he called the cops and refusing to sell me the dozen donuts and coffee that I wanted to buy,

I was probably in there 15 minutes maybe a half hour tops but the way he reacted you'd think I'd been holed up in there for 3 hours on top of that there was nobody even waiting for the bathroom

I dunno sometimes it takes me a while to poop, I'm on medication which makes me a bit constipated so getting things started sometimes takes a bit but once it gets started I gotta finish it

Regardless it's a medical condition and I should not be discriminated against for it, in fact it's illegal to discriminate against someone for...

I tried Duck Donuts last week while on vacation in Williamsburg. I was excited to check this place out since they are actually opening a location a few miles away from where I live in Florida. If you love donuts, then this is THE place for you! The donuts are all made to order, so they are nice and hot when you get them. I'd suggest eating them there so you get to have them while they are still super fresh. They have so many different combinations of toppings and glazes/drizzles., that you are sure to find something you like. We ordered a dozen and chose the Colonial Collection, they were all delicious! My favorite was the maple bacon. I also tried the sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a donut bun. It SO good, but also SO bad for you, lol. Also, these are cake donuts which are different than the yeast donuts that Krispy Kreme serves hot. They are just as delicious though (if not more!). Don't come to this place unless you plan on gaining about 10 lbs instantly because it's too easy to eat an entire dozen...

Have heard very good things about Duck Doughnuts, even about the original in Duck, NC. Stopped in to give them a try. At first, I was a little overwhelmed by the number of different Doughnuts they had. I asked what they had made, and the young lady said, them all,"We make to order. " That was a bit surprising. If you hit a Dunkin or Krispy Cream, you only pick what they have. Ended up getting a cinnamon jelly. When I got it, it was still fairly warm, which always makes a doughnut taste better. The only complaint I would have is the jelly in naturally filled into the hole. When picking it up, a lot of the Jelly stayed on the paper, which made it a little messy. Other than that, it was delicious. It's just a plain strip mall location, nothing fancy inside. Lots of merchandise you can get, if you love them. You can also grab a drink. Definitely would eat their Doughnuts anytime!
