The James City County park at Kidsburg is was renovated a few years past. Gone are the old, beat up, splitter-ridden wooden swings and climbers, IN is a new, brightly colors resin PIRATE SHIP! Yes, there is a zip line, and it's even better, even LONGER, and this one--having a seat--is more friendly to younger kids and the mildly disabled (yes, my kids, now grown, had disabilities and could not ride the old one). By all evidence, this place is FUN! There is a separate play area, fenced, for the little-Littles, but like all little-Littles, they WANT to play with the Big Kids.

Bathrooms are conveniently available in a permenant building tended by the county. There are basketball courts, and a huge soccer field. Two large covered picnic areas with permenant grills and multiple tables can be reserved in advance by contacting the parks department. The park also has a variety of tables and benches, shaded and un-shaded.

The park is dog friendly, tho they are not permitted everywhere. Do watch your feet because not every park patron is polite and does what they should! Please carry proper materials to curb your dog as no one wants to step in a no-no.

In a city of great places to visit and wonderful things to do, Kidsburg is a fabulous place to take time out, for the kids to run and play, and your dog to have a nice time. Best of all the...

I lived in Williamsburg for about 10 years and regularly took my kids here. We occasionally visit the area still, and whenever we do, we go here. With a substantially large play area for kids of all ages and even some special needs options to include a special swing and some sensory items scattered around the playground, this is a great place for any kid (wheelchairs unfortunately have a hard time navigating the mulch which is covering the ground under most of the play area)

There are picnic tables, tennis and basketball courts, a walk/run track that circles the entire area, and actual bathrooms, vending machines, and a water bottle refill station so you are not forced to purchase water.

Plenty of parking and usually a park ranger on site.

Walking distance from Wendy's, Target, Chick-fil-A, a Publix, and quite a bit more.

Whether looking for a place to let the kids loose or a quiet walk for one or two, I highly recothis as the best family park in Williamsburg (quite possibly better than anything within a 10...

Awesome public park near a Publix grocery store and convenient shopping plaza. The park encompasses a huge play structure which appears to be suitable for kids of all ages. There is also a very large dog park for the four legged family members. We particularly enjoyed the picnic table area which was pretty clean and covered as well as the paved walk path that circled the perimeter of the park. We had a simple and peaceful soup, sandwich, and smoothie lunch which we acquired from the nearby Publix. We then walked a few miles after eating our meal, All of the individuals that we encountered were friendly and spoke. The park also affords vending machines, clean public restrooms, tennis and basketball courts, and huge fields. We saw many children enjoying the zip line which I am sure is a main attraction...

I love this park. There should be a park like this every 3 miles. This park is one in a million. The location: -there is a public bathroom. -there is a dog park. -there is a field to kick a ball or throw a Frisbee. -there are Pickle ball courts The park: -There are climbing walls! Like, your child will have to thoughtfully plan their climb. -It's inclusive. Any child of virtually ability could come and enjoy this park. -it's challenging but also promotes exploration and pretend play (parts are designed like a ship, with varied levels) -there's a self contained toddler section Whatever your kid is into, whatever level of play - there is something here for them.

Awesome playground for kids of all ages. My 5yo has been playing here since he could walk and we will play here for many years to come. There is a separate, fenced playground for toddlers. The larger playground has lots of climbing options, several slides, a pirate ship, tons of swings, and two zip lines (one with a seat that is for young children or those with disabilities). Also tons of benches, several shady trees, and 10+ picnic tables (including several under a pavilion directly next to the playground). There is a public restroom at this playground also.
