This is an awesome park! It's 19 acres. They have a play area for toddlers and a play area for older kids. There are picnic shelters, which can be rented. There are also grills. They have restrooms. A really cool pirate ship. Interactive items and the playground is recycled rubber. Other areas are mulch. They also have a small zip line for younger kids and a larger one for older kids. There are wildflower gardens, and several war memorials. There hours are 8 am to 10:00 pm, April through October and 8 am to 8 pm, November through March. If you get a chance, take a group of kids and go enjoy the day! Something for everyone to enjoy!

This is a fabulous park. I was very impressed and our boys had a blast. It has access for those who need ramps, swings for those who need more support, a communication board, access to sensory bags and a lil kid area that is fenced in with a latched gate. Picnic benches, restrooms, and snack machines are also right next to the park. Open areas for Frisbee, football, soccer or your choice of games. The tennis/pickle ball courts were in use and looked in good condition. There are also good sized dog park areas.

This park is so great for kids. Its situated away from the parking lot and is surrounded by a fence on the side of the road to ensure the kids' safety. There is a smaller park for younger ones that is enclosed, which is great in keeping the bigger kids out! My kids always have a great time at this park. Plenty of slides, swings, picnic tables, benches, A ZIPLINE! Bathrooms and vending machines are also available. We will keep returning here!

It was a joy working here for the past two years. From caring for patrons to keeping the park clean, and inspecting amenities, could really say that each evening ended in positivity. This park has great staff, management, and patrons. Recieved this letter just before leaving.⬇️

"I live in New Kent County and don’t get out of the office much. Last evening at about 6:00, I visited Veterans Park to meet some family visiting from out of town. Not that I was expecting anything less but after arriving at the park, I certainly was proud to say I work for James City County. The general appearance of the park was great. The Park Attendant was cleaning tables and picking up litter (although I didn’t see any) and he looked like he cared about what his was doing.

Kudo’s to all for all the work that goes in to it and to the Park Attendant with his positive demeanor. I have to say, at one point I was waiting for the video crew to show up and start filming the commercial for the County...

This park is also called "Kidsburg" and it earns every letter of that name. It's dominated by the playground, which is massive. Like everything else in the area, it honors the past, this time by shaping the play structures as sailing ships and colonial buildings. Beyond the thematic, the play area also features regular and tire swings, a short zip line, as well as a separate, fenced-in play area for younger kids complete with its own swing set.

While the playground is what you'll go for, there's a generously sized grassy field adjacent to the play area that's perfect for picnics and playing ball, Frisbee, etc..

The bathrooms are centrally located, though I did not go into them during my visit, so I can't comment on them beyond their proximity to everything else.

Parking is adequate. It could be bigger, but it isn't...

This is a great place to take your children of all ages. There is a seperated area designed specifically for toddlers so they dnt get bumped on the bigger play area. There's enough swings to keep busy. A pirate ship to climb on and explore. Even has a zipline designed strictly for children. You dnt need a safety harness to use it. It's low enough to the ground and is a slight decline to keep you moving. After you ride it, you pull it back up to the starting point for the nxt person to ride. This is a pet friendly park with an open field to play or have a picnic. A party area (indoors) that you can rent. They have restrooms, water fountains, and a snack machines for those who stay longer than planned. Very nice place to go. My children enjoyed it very much. We will definitely...
