The good: so glad someone is using that restaurant space again - it's such a nifty building! The menu was impressive, with a lot to choose from. Our food came out quickly and was excellent (after I added hot sauce)! We went there for lunch, I had the steak fajita with corn tortillas (no gluten for me) and mom had a Hawaiian thing that was excellent! Look at that grilled half pineapple! They gave us so much food! We went home with enough leftovers for another whole meal! Delicious!
The not so good: I would have liked a little more cheese and sour cream. The sour cream was a drizzle on the lettuce and the cheese was barely there, melted on the refried beans. The servers were friendly but not attentive. We were forgotten after our food was delivered. I think it's because we were between a wall that was built in the middle of the (formerly open) dining area and the outside wall - really we were in a hallway while the portion of the room that was open was getting attentive service. Eventually I went to the hostess desk and asked for boxes. We filled the boxes, stacked our dishes, and waited for our bill that never came. We walked up to the hostess table with our stuff and asked to pay our bill but because our table was behind a wall, we couldn't identify for them which one we were at - the man had to read out the orders until he found ours. If we had just left no one would have noticed. $50 after tip for 2 people is steep for lunch, maybe we should have left! (JK) Tear down the big white wall! (The paint is already scuffed anyway)
I will definitely go back, but will make sure I am seated in a...
Read moreI recently visited Casa Grande to celebrate my daughter's birthday, and while the ambiance was absolutely stunning, the experience left much to be desired. The décor was beautiful, setting a wonderful mood for our special occasion, but sadly, the service and overall attention to detail fell flat.
The food, while decent, didn't wow us. It was fine, but it didn’t live up to the expectations set by the beautiful setting. What really soured the experience, however, was the rushed and impersonal service. After our meal, the manager—or at least I assume he was the manager—who appeared to be an Asian man, approached our table and handed us the check without even asking if we wanted dessert or anything else. No inquiry about how our meal was, no offer of coffee or an after-dinner drink. It felt as though the meal was over, simply because we hadn't ordered alcohol.
The worst part? Our waitress, who had been attentive throughout, didn't even notice that the bill had been dropped off. It felt like we were being rushed out because we weren't spending more money on drinks. As a customer, this left me feeling unimportant and undervalued.
It’s a shame because the setting and the potential were there especially being here from NYC, but I left feeling disappointed and rushed. I can’t help but feel that if we had ordered alcohol, we might have been treated differently. I would think twice about returning, especially when there are so many other places that value their guests and their...
Read moreI recently moved to the area and yesterday, I was in the mood for some Mexican cuisine. I decided to try Casa Grande, a Mexican restaurant in Williston, VT, that recently opened in July 2024. Upon arrival, the restaurant was alive with energy and had a vibrant atmosphere. The decor immediately transported me to Mexico, with authentic elements from Jalisco, the birthplace of Tequila.
To start off, I had chips and queso, and the queso was creamy and rich, a perfect starter. For drinks, I ordered a Piña Colada, and it was absolutely perfect – refreshing and balanced, without being overly sweet.
For dinner, I opted for the POLLO ENCREMADO (choosing the spicy option), a grilled chicken dish with mushrooms and onions mixed with sour cream. It was served with rice, a tossed salad, and three tortillas on the side. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the spice level was just right, adding a nice kick to the creamy sauce. Everything on the plate complemented each other beautifully.
The service was exceptional as well – the staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure I had everything I needed. The overall ambiance of the restaurant was warm and welcoming, with a lively buzz that added to the dining experience.
If you're looking for authentic Mexican food in the Williston area, Casa Grande is definitely worth a visit. The food, drinks, and atmosphere all came together to create a memorable experience. I'll definitely be...
