My girl has one of those little machines that she uses on her face that magically does... I have no idea, she's beautiful and I love her, and she plugged the adapter of it into her Asus laptop and killed the ability for the mobo to charge the battery, also bricked the face machine adapter. Found two options for a replacement mobo, one on ebay from a seller in Chicago and the other from Ascendtech. Initially we went with the seller in Chicago because it was only about 40 minutes away from us and we were hoping to pick it up in person if possible, but the seller never responded to our pick up request, shipped it, and it arrived with a damaged screen port where you plug in the touch screen. So we sent that one back and ordered the one from Ascendtech with upgraded guaranteed 2 day shipping. Ascendtech shipped immediately through fedex but it arrived a day late, fedex's fault. The motherboard is working great but I did expect that due to Ascendtech's reputation. I did call them to report the late delivery and they're crediting the shipping fee. The person I spoke with was very friendly and courteous, emailed me soon after saying they had spoken to fedex and the mobo was on a truck for delivery. Also stating the team would credit the shipping cost the next day as they had already went home for the day, I had called minutes before they closed but they did still pick up the phone which was nice. Even went as far as noting my account to use UPS in the future if possible. I have to wholeheartedly recommend Ascendtech and will continue to look for parts from them for my family, friends, and clients. Thank You to everyone at...
Read moreI inadvertently shattered the screen for my Dell 5290-in-1 tablet last week, and because the tablet, while about 3+ years old, is otherwise in excellent condition, I went looking for a new screen.
It took a number of hours, but I found one at a different "discount" wholesaler, but not only was it "generic" (compatible), when I received it, it was defective. I have since sent it back.
I then located the website for AscendTech after another couple hours of searching. I wish I had found them first. Not only did I locate the ACTUAL "Sharp" replacement screen (stickers and #s all match), but this one actually came with the connecting cable and Wi-Fi antenna already installed (I didn't have to transfer it from my old screen). Swapping out the screens took less than 30 minutes, and the new screen works perfectly.
My ONLY gripe is that when I ordered it, I wanted it shipped my business address, since I am there over 50 hours per week. Imagine my surprise when I received an email the next day from AscendTech indicating that they CANNOT ship to a different address from the card billing address, without actual verification from my bank. In all the years of ordering things on-line, I've not had this happen from other companies. They did note that they would not do that with PayPal. Rather than go through the hassle of swapping payment methods, or spending another hour "verifying" my bank, I just told them to ship it to my home address. This information IS NOT PROMINENTLY spelled out on their website....
Read moreCanadian Buyers Beware! If there was a zero stars option, I would have chosen that. Deplorable experience and even worse customer service model by Vlad. We purchased a motherboard and RAM, both made in China. In an email trail, their representative, Vlad, admitted to their in-house Shipper labelling all items to Canada as the same classification. That's admitting to Customs fraud. In our case, that equated to "machinery", clearly not what we ordered. This resulted in duties, taxes, and tariffs being charged by CBSA which are double what the items cost and it's not even on a correct classification. When I informed them that the shipping documents I received had an incorrect classification, they met me with denial and a refusal to escalate the call to their Shipper/Receiver or their Supervisor. They even called my request absurd. Asking for the specification sheets to submit to Canada Customs, as part of the appeal process, was met with them sending us screenshots from their website and not spec sheets. They continue to send by email unrelated explanations related to controlled goods and shipping (not pertaining to our shipment). If you are a Canadian buyer, beware of their shipping practices, but definitely, their lack of...
