I love Korean food. But I will never come back here. The waitress was abrasive and in a hurry even though there were NO other people at the restaurant. It was about 7:45pm on a Saturday night and the place was empty. The place didn’t close till 9pm. The waitress tried to rush us 3 minutes after we looked at the menu, was super rude and defensive when I asked why the prices were $10 more than what was shown on the online menu? Her response was “Well that’s an old menu and prices have gone up!” No problem with that, please update your menu online to reflect correct pricing. I proceeded to ask her what the portion sizes were and if the portion sizes reflected the price. She was extremely rude in her response stating, “You pay for quality and just because the portions aren’t big doesn’t mean the food isn’t good.” I said ok, that’s fair, then I’ll try it out and see what the food is like. I let her know that I was just trying to gauge how much I should order since some restaurants with an dish that is priced at $30 to $40 is usually a large one and good for two people. I came with a friend. We split the Kalbi & Beef Bulgogi Combo. The beef was very tasty, however, the “side dishes” were more like garnishes (I’ve been to many Korean restaurants) and the rice portion in the small metal bowl was only half filled. Extra rice was priced at $5.50 each. And the small slice of coconut cake was $9.99. The waitress automatically charged 20% gratuity which was NOT disclosed at all. So for two people splitting one dish with two extra sides of rice and and two drinks = $89.41. Way over priced.
I love the chef as the beef was cooked to perfection. So kudos to the chef who put heart and soul into the food. But the service was very poor and food was overpriced. I will NOT be coming back here. I should have left with the rude waitress at the very beginning, but I wanted to try the food. Lesson learned. I’d rather drive to Raleigh, Myrtle Beach or...

Like many others, who have gone here with a party of 5 or more, there is no warning that a 20% gratuity will be added to the bill. I am usually great at tipping excellent service, but my issue here is that they were not courteous enough to let you know beforehand or ahead of time. The waitress handed back the receipt and told us after it had been swiped.
Second, the waitress (Kate) is loud and has no respect for her environment. She spilled her entire love life to another staff. So loud that we know there is drama going on in their relationship. Everyone has to speak to someone about problems, but there is a time and place for that. Not in a family restaurant with children and all.
Being the only Korean restaurant in town, it is not bad. Food is ok. However, this is just a restaurant trying to cheat you. For these said reasons, 1) the unexpected gratuity tip that was not displayed anywhere and was told after the payment was taken, 2) a made-up story about why they don’t give out lemons with their water, and 3) issues with the menu/false advertisement. Their menu explicitly says your entree will receive a side of miso soup and sides; therefore, I should get miso soup and sides. Four people in my party ordered entrees and the whole table only got small dishes suited for one person. When asked about it, they said it was for the entire table. If extra is needed, they will up-charge a $1.50. If this is the case, the menu needs to be updated to explicitly say “a side of miso and sides (per table).

Read moreThe food was good but the portions were ridiculously small. Our waitress was rude upon arrival shouting, “Sit at any table!” With her smokers voice. She made us anxious and timid while placing order and we dare not ask for a refill 👀 I was also blown away watching her take the drinking glasses and slamming into the ice machine (lesson 101 don’t put glass in ice machine) while being over charged for a meal you’re sweating. I’m guessing saving money on their electric bill. I wish I would have read the reviews before taking my family :-/ we stopped at the Chick-fil-A for nuggets and milkshakes since we were all still hungry. The restaurant needs to adjust their prices or portions. Oh for the sides they offer with your meal, you get five spicy pickles sliced in thin circles, about ten bean sprouts, six green leafy thing (no clue what it’s called) and a tablespoon of kimchi, oh and 1/4 cup of soup. The sides were portioned for the four of us to share, I let my husband have the extra pickle slice :) I know indocine isn’t Korean but Thai food is close enough and their portions are...
