This is no ordinary pizza joint. If you were eating the food and were blindfolded, you would think that you were in a five star restaurant. Everything is cooked to order and modified to your taste and request. Portion sizes are incredibly large.
I was part of a party of four. We each had something different. We wanted to taste the pizza, so we split two slices. I liked it, but thought it needed more sauce. I told this to our very thoughtful waitress Emily and she immediately brought over some marinara sauce. The pizza was now spectacular. It was the quintessential NY slice! We then shared an order of fried calamari. Largest order I have ever seen. It was cooked to perfection. My eggplant was fabulous. The dish of chicken francaise was delicious. Order of chicken cacciatore was five star. California chicken panini scrumptious. Garlic knots, pasta, French fries all off the charts.
Just a great experience. Not as good as NY, but close. The prices are low for the quality of the food and portion size.

Search reviews Barry L. Leland, NC 5027312 5/7/2023Updated review 6 photos I still stand by my previous review. In the spirit of not being misleading, I feel compelled to provide an update. Had dinner last night and was extremely disappointed. I thought that Pie's On would be my new go to restaurant in Wilmington. Owner is a good man and staff is very caring. However, my food last night was not up to standard. My fried calamari was slightly overcooked and chewy. Not like my first experience. My honey wanted to try the chicken broccoli scampi. I agreed to share it with her. The chicken was tough and not edible. Our server, Amelia, offered to replace the chicken. We consented and found the new chicken to once again be tough and overcooked. I could not believe that could happen after complaining and sending it back. I once again let Amelia know. She offered to take it off the bill. I appreciated this, but I wasn't happy. I came to dinner last night looking forward to a great meal. Certainly, it did not come close to living up to expectations. I am hoping that this was a fluke. I intend on going back to give them another chance. The food the first time...
Read moreApril 24, 2025: Let me begin by saying I'm a native NY'er and critique my pizza wherever I live. Please, don't hate us from up North. We just really like our pizza (LOL). I visited "Pie's", for the first time, a couple of days ago and ordered a Buffalo Chick slice, paying $5.30. On a scale of 1-10, I'd rate it 7, and here's why. The base crust was a bit too thin for my liking. There's thin-crust, regular crust and Sicilian (thick crust). Call it "thin crust pizza" so it manages a customer's expectations. The amount of chicken was sparse and sliced in thin strips. This resulted in dried out, tough protein when reheated. The sauce tasted similar to a mild Sriracha, with no depth of flavor (as a good buffalo sauce should have). The usual paper my slice was served on had some sort of white sauce that was brushed onto the crust. It may have been something like a blue cheese, yet again, not much flavor. The POSITIVES: I was greeted with a smile, given a run-down of all available slices, and the server was wonderful. I plan on going back to have a plain cheese slice. I can live with a thin crust. I just hope their plain slice satisfies my taste buds...
Read moreOrdered a large cheese pizza with extra cheese and pepperoni on half for delivery (Friday). The order came in at 7:08 pm and we had an ETA of 7:53-8:08 pm. The pizza didn't show up until 8:27pm and our delivery driver had a pie in one hand and her phone on speaker in the other. She barely said anything to my boyfriend who got it and as she was walking away, apologized to the person on the phone saying, "sorry what did you say I was delivering a pizza." We spent $36 for one pizza and it was room temperature and we had to put it in the air fryer to heat it up. If I wanted to turn my air fryer on, I would've just cooked. The cheese also seemed like it had been microwaved or something since it was really chewy and barely any sauce. We go there for wings all the time on Wednesdays and we've had the pizza before and thought it was good enough to pay that much and order delivery. But that absolutely wasn't worth it. Unfortunately they're closed now so I can't even call and talk to anyone. So disappointed and that's a lot of money to waste...
