Me and my boyfriend were here a couple weeks ago and were not even in the store for more than a minute before an employee (whom I have never seen) came up to us and kicked us out. She practically cornered us out of the store even though we were leaving willingly. When I asked her what the problem was she proceeded to yell at us that "we know what we did" and we had to leave. She was incredibly rude and anytime I tried to ask anything or talk to her she just yelled at us to get out. We have been here MANY times and have always been very respectful and kind to the staff. I simply wanted to know what the problem was to see if it was something we could resolve but she would not even let us speak. We were not trying to argue. The yelling and the rudeness was not needed. If we were asked to leave and told a reason I had no problem or even if we were asked to leave in a respectful manner. I was very embarrassed and honestly speechless as she made this scene in front of other customers in the store. I am INCREDIBLY disappointed in this experience as I have enjoyed every visit here otherwise. I have wanted to go in and try to resolve the issue since but after this experience I don't even know if shopping here is worth it when they allow they're employees to treat their paying customers so terribly. Read moreMy husband and I came into this store excited to shop and support a local business that we have purchased from before, but we were immediately made to feel unwelcome. I was asked to leave my purse at the front — something I’ve never been asked to do in any store like this — and while I was trying to be understanding and did do what she asked, things only got worse.
The employee then proceeded to follow us around the store the entire time, making it painfully obvious they thought we were going to steal something. Anytime we showed interest in an item she felt the need to approach us and ask if we needed help after telling her multiple times we did not need assistance. It was awkward, invasive, and frankly, insulting. We weren’t doing anything suspicious — just browsing like any other customer. The whole experience felt judgmental and discriminatory.
If this is how they treat paying customers, I’d rather take my business elsewhere. There are plenty of adult stores that offer a more respectful and comfortable environment. We have shopped many Adam & Eve stores with a wonderful experience and was completely let down at our local store. The employees there have no business working at an adult toy store where it is an intimate shopping experience. It’s no wonder this store is always empty after the experience we just had.
