UPDATE TO THE OWNER:
Hello Chef Michael,
I would like to address the comments yput made in the google post that I am unable to respond to....
I gave the coupon to another table because as stated they were going back home to another state. After everyone's horribly rude attitude, I'd never waste money on your establishment.
I did not put the coffee on anyone's table. I drank orange juice. I greatly appreciate you getting your facts straight before trying to shame me. I also have a Public Health degree I understand how cleanliness works.
As the owner you should have come out to address the situation. We asked for a manager. Instead all 5 of the employees stared and ran their mouths and we never spoke to anyone.
ANY restaurant would have taken it off. It was YOUR employees MISTAKE! She did not say sorry not bother to come back over and check on the others patrons meals.
I was being polite and gave you 5 Stars for the food and atmosphere to be polite. the service was absolutely appalling. Since you want to be so rude and point the blame I will gladly change them to 1 stars. So thank you kindly.
I do hope you find some new employees that are caring and non argumentative. Its a shame that you responded the way you did and trust a bunch of children who are in the WRONG over a paying customer.
Im just clearing up MY name. I, the person with the issue had to go up to the counter myself to report the food being wrong as no one came to check on how the food was. I gave the coupon to someone else because I will not be eating there ever again and neither will any of my friends/family. (Especially the people that don't live here) Also, we were told you were going to give us a discount..... 20% off does not suffice for the order that was incorrect. I will however, post your rude response so people know how the business is run. My review may not hurt your restaurant but it obviously hurt your feelings and you know you and your staff were in the wrong or you would not have responded how you did!
Thanks
I am super understanding when it comes to eating in a restaurant. I am a teacher and I serve at a busy breakfast/seafood diner here locally.
I ordered the most expensive thing on the menu. The lobster Benedict. I ended up with a black bean Benedict. I took it up there and they said they could remake it, I said “it’s fine if she put it in wrong, the people I’m eating with need to leave to drive back to Virginia.”
They said they could make it and bring it out. The point is they are in a hurry, already eating, and their food will be cold by the time mine comes out.
The server that put the order in wrong did not ever come over to apologize, neither did she ask how the other two customers meals were.
When the guy gave us a receipt because the original server never came back, the charge was on there. When we questioned he argued back.
Because I took the plate and already had a bite taken out of it they left it on the bill. They said they would give a discount but there was no discount.
I wouldn’t have even cared if it stayed on the bill if the server would have owned up to making a mistake and apologize. Instead the other 4 employees doing it for her. Still not ONE of the 5 people working asked how the food was.
I will NEVER eat here again. Nor will I ever recommend this place. $68 for horrible...
Read moreOn a day where I did not have much work, Eternal Sunshine Cafe was my selection to enjoy tastes of sweet and savory for brunch. I have heard wonderful things from word of mouth about ESC so I wanted to pop in unexpected, and give them a try.
FOOD: Kickin Benedict with a side of Banana Foster Baked French Toast. I'm not sure where to start bc both of these are truly remarkable. Let's start with the Banana Foster French Toast...house-made banana bread that was very moist, not too sweet and the consistency bonded well together to keep it from crumbling. Add in some chopped walnuts, sliced bananas, butterscotch sauce with cinnamon and powdered sugar dusted all over. Each bite was light, moist and packed the right amount of sweetness. The banana bread was flawless and I thoroughly enjoyed it. One slice was just enough. On to the Kickin Benedict...jalapeno cheese bread topped with a fresh sausage patty, sliced avocado, 2 beautifully poached eggs and smothered with ESC's chipotle-hollandaise sauce. This dish also was served with a side of home fries that were cooked and seasoned beautifully. What was surprisingly pleasant about the Kickin Benedict is that it was not greasy whatsoever!! With poached eggs, sausage and a creamy hollandaise sauce, you"d almost expect indigestion or heartburn shortly after consumption. None of that with this heavenly plate. Spiced and seasoned well and poached eggs so delicately prepared, any slight movement could have compromised the yolk. This thing was amazing. I enjoyed each and every bite and even mixed in some of the home fries into the benedict remains. LOL SCORE: 5 STARS!!
SERVICE: My young son and I were seated at an outdoor table and was immediately greeted by Emilee. Emilee had a very contagious smile, great personality and was very sociable throughout the meal. She checked in on us often to ensure we had sufficient drinks etc. The food was served promptly, presentation was an A plus and she did it with a smile! Thank you for executing flawlessly on service! SCORE: 5 STARS!!
OVERALL SCORE: What more can I say? It was a perfect dining experience at ESC. You'll see me around more for sure, just to experience more of what you have to offer up and enjoy the great...
Read moreRude!!! Today was the last day of my weekend trip in Wilmington as me, my boyfriend and our 3 other friends came here to get breakfast before a 3 hour drive.we sat down, coffee and waters came out fast but me and my friends cup rims looked chewed on compared to our other friends whos cups looked fine. We asked for straws as I am a server and she works in the service industry as well and aren’t one to complain the server said sure and we also order 2 mimosa flights. 5 minutes later our server was taking other people’s orders and not ours. Another 5 minutes later our flights came out and still no straws. We saw a container of them on the bar and I asked my boyfriend to grab some so he did. A different waitress gave him the dirtiest look and our whole table noticed. Right after that another customer grabbed straws for herself as well so I guess a couple of us had been waiting. The rude waitress went out of her way to come to our table and yell at my boyfriend for grabbing his own straws bc “he went behind the bar” ( he did not he was standing at the end of it he did not walk behind the bar. They also said nothing to the other women who grabbed straws). Me and my friends were in absolute shock and we both agreed we would NEVER talk to a customer like that. Not sure of her name might have been Katie but she was the only brunette there that day. Really ruined our breakfast. Not sure if they tip share or what we still left 5 on a 50 as the waitress who brought us our food was very very nice and was the only one who seemed like she knew what she was doing might’ve been...
