Had to call the police just to get my clothes back from Needlestitch.
I’ve been a loyal customer here for years. The two women who work there have always done a great job, especially with my work uniforms. But this time, the male manager caused serious issues and refused to take responsibility.
On April 23, I dropped off two uniform shirts to have the sleeves shortened. I explained exactly what I wanted, the same method they’ve used before: remove the bottom portion with the logo, shorten the sleeve, and reattach the original fabric.
When I returned on April 30 to drop off pants, the manager casually told me they had cut through the logo. He showed me the damage and said, “If we can’t fix it, we’ll just buy you new shirts,” like it wasn’t a big deal. No apology. No accountability.
On May 3, I came back to pick everything up. The manager wasn’t there, but one of the women I trust showed me the “finished” shirt. They had sewn a patch over the sleeve with a fake logo that didn’t match the original. It looked messy and unprofessional. When they saw I was upset, they took the shirt back and told me to return on May 6 to speak with the manager.
I couldn’t return that day, so I came back the next, today, May 7. The manager said the shirt was still “in pieces.” At that point, I had no trust left. I told him directly I didn’t want any more work done and wanted my items returned immediately.
He refused. Claimed it was “store policy” not to return unfinished garments but wouldn’t show me that policy. Then he falsely claimed my company had sent him materials to fix the logo. I confirmed with my supervisor that wasn’t true. He changed the story again, saying a contact gave him the fabric but wouldn’t say who.
After calmly asking for my property for over 30 minutes, with my partner present, I said I’d call the police if he didn’t return it. Only then did he accuse us of trespassing.
When the officers arrived, the manager told them I had “threatened” him because I said, “I don’t want to blow up,” a quiet comment I made to my partner while trying to stay calm. If he truly felt unsafe, he would’ve said something then, not after I mentioned calling the police.
He spoke to the officers privately, lying while we waited outside for 30 more minutes. When the shirts were finally brought out, they had still been altered, again without my permission.
I’ve never had issues with the women who work there, but the manager’s behavior was dishonest and completely out of line. No customer should ever have to go through what I did, especially just to get their own property back.
The bottom line: I revoked consent. They continued working on my...
Read moreI had an "Inspiration" dress I wanted for my son's wedding but I could not justify or afford the $1600 price tag. I bought a $100 dress on Amazon $155 worth of fabric from a local fabric store, and thought I could just take it anywhere to have it altered into something close. After attempting to speak with tailors, and going to different seamstress shops, everyone told me what I was asking for was impossible. I stumbled upon this shop. Thank goodness! They stated without hesitation, that it could be done! They didn't just recreate my inspiration dress, they customized a dress that was not only flattering on me but utilized all of the elements that I loved about the designer dress that was out of my budget. They even had me try it on and did some additional touch ups, take ins and hems. I felt like Dubai Royalty with what they created! The pricing was more than fair (total cost of dress with alterations was $610). The turn around time was fabulous, about a week and a half. The help they offered was above and beyond phenomenal and the seamstresses in the back do amazing work. I highly recommend this shop for all your alterations. Just absolutely completely over the moon happy with...
