My girlfriend and I were shopping in Wimberley and we needed to find my beautiful darling a dress for a speaking engagement later that night. Upon entering the store, we were immediately greeted with a warm, friendly tone. My girlfriend was given the royal treatment by 3-4 staff members. It was like a scene in Pretty Woman. The staff members were like long lost best friends getting thier girlfriend ready for a hot date. The staff members walked my Girlfriend from rack to rack, finding her multiple options to try on. Every time my lovely girlfriend stepped out of the dressing room, there was a staff member there to give her helpful and HONEST critique on how the different dresses fit and looked. We were never pressured to hurry or buy anything more than we planned. My darling Girlfriend finally found the right beautiful dress. The dress was almost made just for her. While heading to the register we came across a rack with floral Hawaiian type shirts for men. We found a shirt for me to wear that perfectly complimented my Girlfriend's dress. The prices were more than fair and shockingly low compared to the quality of the garments. The Bazaar is a must shop at when visiting the beautiful and majestic Village of Wimberley. I was here just this weekend touring the beautiful town, almost every shop was such a wonderful welcome - but this one. It was uneasy and I felt borderline harassed while shopping by a sales associate in a cowboy hat, dress and boots. As once a retail worker myself, I want the customer to feel welcomed with a greet at the door (you know like "Hello! Questions such as "Are we looking for something special today?" or even just a "Howâd you hear about us?" is far better than being followed literally from one end of the store to the other... the whole time. I went in circles on purpose to watch her literally watch me. If I wasn't so bothered by it, I would probably have laughed. I didn't buy anything because I couldn't focus on what I was looking for without feeling awkward...
Read moreLet me preface by saying I worked at this store for 3 days years ago- but I recently went into check it out because they do have cute clothes and jewelry- the girl who greeted me was very friendly. In fact, too friendly and kept talking to me and FOLLOWING me every step of the store I went to. It was blatantly OBVIOUS that she was trying to keep a close eye on me AND make conversation when I just wanted to shop- not make small talk. It sincerely agitated me and the employee clearly didnât pick up on that. I felt like I was being watched as if I was going to steal something which as a customer is VERY uncomfortable. The employees need to tone it down a lot- and the clothing items are ridiculously overpriced in my opinion. So if you want to go into a store to look around and feel comfortable donât go...
