Love this place, too bad we can't go here again.
We arrived to Community Pizza late on a Saturday afternoon and were told that the wait was about 45 minutes for a table outside. It was very reasonable for that time on a weekend and we were content to grab a couple of beers and watch my daughter play on the playground.
We parked ourselves at a table that hadn't been cleared and soon a nice young man came over and told us that he might have to seat someone there pretty soon and we might have to move, but told us we could order food food from the bar.
There were three tables cleared at that time- two of the three were seated as we waited. After half an hour of waiting, we ordered food from the bar (Shelby and her partner were friendly and helpful- and asked if we wanted our food to go) and it arrived very quickly, within a few minutes
We sat at one of the uncleared tables to eat our food. About the same time we were informed that our table was ready, but we already had our food so we were content to sit at a dirty table and eat.
Within a minute or two a young lady from the hostess station came over and told us we weren't allowed to eat from takeout containers at the table.
We told her that that was fine with us as we weren't moving to our table that was a few feet away, and we told her she could seat anyone at that table or our table if she liked because we were going to be finished very soon.
Within another couple minutes another young lady came over from the hostess stand and told us we had to move we told her we didn't want to move and she insisted we had to- mind you, our table was a few feet away, cleared and waiting since we'd arrived
I told her she was welcome to call the cops and tell them to move us and she said she would. I told her she was incompetent and rude, which is clearly the case.
Very soon a third young woman (Bree) came over to ask us what was going on, it sounded like she wanted to hear the story but when I confirmed that I told the hostess that her staff incompetent and rude she told us we had to leave the restaurant
I told her I'd like to finish my beer. She said I couldn't and she also said that I couldn't go to the bar to pay my tab
I left the premises and took the picture attached of my friend as she finished her salad with my three year old daughter all while Bree stood telling her she had to leave.
We were there for about 45 minutes, and only the nice young man and the bartenders made any effort to serve us until we were told to leave our...
Read moreTried to order online, the order isn't accepted. Called to order. Told we must go online or come in to order and online ordering is shut off at 5pm. The automated message tells you not to call to order and then the real person that answered advised that we need to come in to order food.
My wife and I go to the restaurant and are told to go to the bar to order. Bar has room to sit. Busy, but not slammed; bar tenders are conversing with patrons leisurely and we have access to walk right up to one of the two behind the bar.
The bartender asks what we want then quits listening to my wife mid-order to acknowledge another patron arriving. She doesn't hear what was just said to her because of this and we repeat it. It is becoming pretty apparent that we are bothering her with a to-go order.
Wait 50 minutes for two pizzas and some peppers. I go up at 25 minutes and 35 minutes to check. I spend the last 10 minutes waiting while standing near so I can grab and go quickly. While standing in view of where orders are served up, I notice that a pizza and appetizer box are sitting on the counter the entire time I'm standing there. I assume at this point that these are mine and my second pizza was missed or taken. Another note - they took phone orders while I stood there.
Second pizza is done and the bartender brings me the order. I open up the box that was sitting there and stick my finger in the food - barely above room temperature. It was sitting there for at least 15 minutes and brought to me like I wasn't watching it on the counter.
I'm visibly frustrated at this point so an attempt at service is now made. They try to give me another pizza that just came out to replace it. I tell her I don't want another pizza but I want the cold pizza I'm taking to be reduced or comped.
She walks off, comes back and tells me shes comped the whole meal (no receipt). Five business days later with no refund of any amount on my card.
Abysmal service...

I don't usually drive 40 minutes for pizza but I dream about their margherita pizza enough that I gladly make the trek out here. The cheese, farm tomatoes, pesto/basil, and full cloves of roasted garlic make a pizza so good it almost rivals the ones in Italy. Their bruschetta appetizer is also wonderful and my family says their other pizzas are also great. They also have a nice selection of draft beer and cocktails.
My only gripe about the "food" is that they don't have soda/non alcoholic options on tap so you end up paying for every drink, which is pretty unusual for the area and adds up quick when you're out in the heat.
Also, if the owner is reading, could you please bring back your bread and oil appetizer? It was amazing and I need it to come back...
The place is very family friendly with a play space my kids adore next to shaded (a must in TX) outdoor picnic tables in a pavilion with fans. If you don't have young kids, they also have indoor dining with comfy, mid-century modern style decor. The dining area is perfect for girls night, after-work cocktails, or a casual date night.
After eating, you're walking distance from the river, ice cream hot spots, and shopping.
Important Notes: No reservations needed most of the time. The place gets pretty busy, though, so you might want to call ahead if you have a large group.
It is very kid friendly and they have a kids menu.
Disability and wheelchair accommodating. There is disabled parking in the lot next to the restaurant. Outside dining is picnic tables with attached benches so it would be hard to eat there in a wheelchair. Inside, though, they can accommodate wheelchairs but it might be hard to navigate the small aisles between tables. There are ramps so you can avoid stairs when walking in the area up to the entrance and around...
