My experience with Hill's Ace Hardware & Lumber Center has consistently been a positive one, earning it a solid four stars in my book. Here's what I appreciate about this hardware store:
Pros:
Friendly and Knowledgeable Staff: The staff at Hill's Ace Hardware & Lumber Center are the true gems of this establishment. They are not only friendly but also exceptionally knowledgeable. They go out of their way to assist you, offering valuable advice and guidance on your hardware needs. Their respect for customers truly shines through.
Equipment Sales and Repairs: One standout feature of this place is that if you purchase equipment here, there's a good chance they can also repair it for you, unless otherwise specified. This added convenience has saved me time and hassle on multiple occasions.
Neat and Organized: The store is impeccably clean, well-kept, and neatly organized. It makes the shopping experience a breeze. You can quickly locate what you need without wandering aimlessly through cluttered aisles.
Up-to-Date Tools and Equipment: Hill's Ace Hardware & Lumber Center stocks some of the newest tools and equipment available in the market. The staff is not only aware of their inventory but can also assist you in finding the perfect fit for your needs. My purchases, including a leaf blower, lawn mower, and weed cutter, were guided by their expertise, ensuring I got the right tools for the job.
Cons:
Limited Selection: While Hill's Ace Hardware & Lumber Center has a wide range of items, there have been a few instances when I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. However, speaking to an employee often opens up options, including the possibility of ordering the item or finding a suitable alternative.
Limited Quantity: Sometimes, they have what you need, but the quantity may be limited. Don't hesitate to talk to an employee in such cases; they can often work with you to secure what you require.
Tight Parking for Larger Vehicles: If you're driving a larger vehicle, be prepared for tight parking spaces. Maneuvering can be a bit challenging, so exercise caution.
In summary, Hill's Ace Hardware & Lumber Center is a dependable and well-maintained hardware store with friendly and knowledgeable staff. While it may occasionally have limited selections or quantities, the willingness of the staff to assist and find solutions makes it a worthwhile destination for all your hardware needs. Read moreI have repeated bad experiences with this Ace H/W location. Just about every month, I go there to get some corn to feed to the squirrels. This is whole corn (on the cob). They are about $5.59 a bag. First of all, they never ever have them in stock. When I have the staff look it up, they always say that there are four in the back. They send someone to get them and they cannot find them. So, I order them and pay for them. A couple weeks pass by and no one calls me. So, I call. Whoever answers says that they are there for me to pick up. Last time, some lady said that she called and left a voice mail. That is not true. This time I ordered 5 bags on 12/19/24. It is now 12/26/24. I spoke to this kid name by Joe that took my order. I told him the past problems. He promised this would not happen. So, now I am speaking with Sheydi. She puts me on hold for a while and comes back and says she will have to look for them. HOW RIDUCULOUS! She took information down from my receipt and said she will have to call back.
The only reason I go there is because they said a coupon book every month. I nearly save $10.00 with that. That is why I order them.
I did not speak with the manager Tod or Denise because I want this kids to look for them.
I need to know how to reach out to Corporate because this store is really bad.
They can ask Sheydi or Joe to ask to see who I am if they care. My receipt number is F51705/1.
This is so stupid. Why do they send me coupon book and then provide this poor service. I think I may have to give up on them. But, I am usually persistent and find someone at Corporate to complain. So far, I have avoided that. But, I will not before I don't go this store anymore.
All the reviews are here are good. I don't doubt them. I think when you go to the store, they are friendly, help you find something. But, their system sucks. I am really fed up with them ordering and cannot get this simple...
Read moreI just moved here from Flowery Branch and have never spent much time here so learning where to go for what and glad I found hills. This place is Huge- has great service, established and professional staff and anything you need in hardware, lumber, mowers, more.
My visit was for a repair of an Echo blower which Dwane helped me with in parts/service. We couldn't get it started so it had to go in for service and timing was such there was a long lead time on service and i needed something now . Not wanting to spend to much money ( I bought the blower of FB and was already in the hole just to get serviced)- so I gave the blower to Dwayne and said keep it, rent it, show me something of quality but won't break the bank, could be used but work well and just a single yard guy here. He went up and found a new Echo that was perfect for me, got a great price and showed me how to start it outside.... yeah- I'm a happy camper. Super professional, even knew my area and neighborhood as his son services many of the properties around me and its a well known area I hear.
Since then, been in for lumber for a rotten pool deck I was working on , easy in, got them cut, easy out. I'm really liking this place and cant thank Dwane enough in service who made what could have been a unpleasant issue a nice way to get an intro to the city. Great service, lots of inventory,...
