I have attempted to purchase products from this Ace Hardware multiple times. The first time I attempted to call the store and find out if they had a certain product in stock. After being told they did I made the drive to the store to find out that they had no idea what they were talking about and in fact didn't carry said product.
The second time I went to the store I had to explain to an associate what gas flex line was and how it was actually used, and I also helped a customer with amp questions on a tractor battery because the associate didn't know.
The next incident occurred when my wife went on her way home to pick up a junction box and a pipe wrench "couldn't find mine". She went in close to closing "apparently annoyed the associate?!?", and not only did the associate send my wife home with an outlet box and a cover that didn't match, but a $35 dollar pipe wrench! I'm sorry but that is ridiculous. Not only is it unexcused that they are badly trained / not knowledgeable, but they are very overpriced. I can buy the same wrench for $13 at harbor freight or $24 at Lowe's.
Lastly, when I went in to return the overpriced pipe wrench and the wrong electrical box I had to interrupt a conversation involving 4 employees in order to get helped. The return was painless but I did find it quite entertaining when someone I'm assuming was a manager came by to tell her workers that there were customers that needed helping.
My suggestion would be turn your Ace into a place of expertise and willing associates in order to justify the monopolized location you have in our small town of Windsor. High prices are much easier to justify when the customer service...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI will never shop at this, or any other, Ace again. Went in to purchase a sprinkler valve after I checked stock on the Ace website. The site stated "in stock in Windsor, available for pick up today". So I headed to the store. After searching for a bit, an employee asked if I needed help finding something. I showed her the website and she told me " the website lies" and they don't have it. After a brief view of the sprinkler aisle, I asked her to check the computer and she told me again that the website lies. On another occasion, I asked the same employee to show me where the stainless hose clamps were and she responded "they're all stainless " and walked away.
Poor customer service and a bad website at Ace will keep me shopping...

Waited until may 2nd, no communications from the store about them. Called in on the 2nd and at first they told me they had misplaced the blades. After they found them they told me they would be done by 6:30pm on the 2nd. Went into the store on may 3rd and was told they werenāt sharpened yet, taking them somewhere else now. I realize this is a busy season for mower blade sharpening, the problem isnāt the wait itās that the store does not communicate anything to you about when they will be done, then when you ask they give you a date and time that turns out not to be accurate.
