My family and I made the two hour drive to visit the showroom of this store this past Saturday after I checked out the website. Very nice store and quality items. The sales associate I worked with let us look around without being pushy or following us. My biggest complaint and the reason I took my business else where is the fact we found what we was looking for, but could not make the deal happen. I was willing to purchase the couch and take it that day since we had my truck and was 2 hours from home. They would not agree to letting us take it out of the store and wanted to have it removed by there movers and sent to there warehouse(not open on Saturday) for me to pickup at a later date involving another 2 hour trip there and 2 hours back home. Long story short after multiple attempts trying to get the couch bought I came home and was able to find the same item online and have shipped to my door for a few dollars less. I just find it sad that you have a customer ready to purchase and haul away and turn it down due to what may of been laziness of employees to take a few minutes to load the item purchased? If I was the owner and knew that a customer was turned away over something so simple I probably wouldn't be too pleased. Maybe I'm old school and like to get things done when the opportunity is there. Luckily we are dealing with a great business out of Baltimore and have the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs many folks have mentioned most of the sales people are very nice. However, we special ordered 3 pieces of furniture and 2 of 3 pieces had problems. Bowen did send out a repair person who corrected an assembly problem on one chair. The other recliner ($1300) is literally unusable. The sales person knew I need a special seat size (depth) and suggested this recliner from his catalog. Since it went with the couch we were ordering, we agreed. Little did we know, the depth of the seat on the recliner is 18 inches. Can you imagine a recliner that shallow? Additionally, the back is so over stuffed that it causes one to arch his back to sit in it. Bowen refused to take the chair back unless we paid them a nearly $400 restocking fee. I suggested we split that fee since I accept some culpability for relying on the suggestion of the sales person rather than checking the dimensions myself. They refused. We will no longer use Bowen for furniture purchases because we are literally stuck with a chair that would only be comfortable...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe do not live in Winston so havenāt visited Bowen in years but was looking for something special and found it at Bowen. Steve worked with us and was terrific. Heās knowledgeable and answered every question quickly! Very experienced. On our way out we saw a little chest that we both liked. After sleeping on it we decided we wanted it so I emailed Steve to call me when he could so we could go ahead with purchase. He called shortly after having already marked the piece sold and was arranging to move it to warehouse. That was quick.
Itās a great store with a great, knowledgeable staff.
Two final notes: Steve plays golf and thatās a plus. On our last visit we left a pillow behind because Steve gave us a can of peanuts and I was way more concerned with keeping up with the peanuts than the pillow. š. Steve kindly kept the pillow til we could get back to Winston.
Do yourself a favor and check Bowen Furniture out. Great...
