You will not find better prices or more superb, friendly, supportive customer service anywhere else than you will from the great team at Blackburn's Interiors led by owner Wally Blackburn.
We had been thinking about taking on the monumental task of re-doing the floors in our whole house and re-tiling our master bathroom for almost two years but had simply put it off because the thoughts of having to pack up all of the what-nots, and move all of the furniture from our home of 42 years just seemed overwhelming to us. We stopped by Blackburn's interiors one morning to take a look at what they had to offer. Blackburn's Interiors does such great work that they were the ones who did all of the original flooring in our 42 year old home and it still looked very good and was in very good condition. We were just ready for a change.
Well, Wally meet us at the door with a big smile and hearty welcome. How could they help us out? I described to the letter what kind of carpet I thought we would like: color, style, texture. Bingo! Wally walks over and pulls out a sample and it is the perfect one. I then described exactly what I would like for the new kitchen floor to look like and again Presto! Wally knew his inventory so well that he brought out the absolute ideal piece of vibrant vinyl plank flooring that matched my exact description. It could not have been any more perfectly matched to what I had described. Now we were really curious with these lovely choices presented to us. A morning of stopping to "look-and see" was becoming serious quickly because Blackburn's Interiors was amazingly meeting our desires so easily.
Could Wally recommend a contractor to possibly do a remodel of our master bath since we still had the original old tile in the bath/shower area? Shazam! Wally informs us that Blackburn's sells all of the tiles to do these types of jobs as well and we head to the area of the beautiful showroom where all of the tiles in on display. We begin to look through the samples and there it is. The most wonderful, like is was made-to-order to match the carpet we had picked out tile to use in a bathroom remodel job in the old bath/shower. I mean it was a perfect accompanying match up.
Now it was time to get Wally to do some calculating. He figured up an estimate for us on the carpet for the whole house, the new vinyl plank floor for the kitchen, and the remodel for the master bath. We had never once given him any price ranges or cost restrictions that day. Wally summoned us over and said he had an estimate ready and gave us the total price. We were very, very pleased with the figure that he gave us. I spoke up and asked, "How much more then will it be to install all of these materials?" I thought the estimate was just for the actual carpet, vinyl, and tile. "Oh no, that is the total cost for materials and labor to install everything!" says Wally with a big old smile. We both smiled from ear to ear and said, "Let's sign the papers now and get on your schedule for the work to begin."
The entire project is now complete and we could not be any happier with all of the work that was done. Our 42 year old home looks brand new again. You can be certain that when we need any flooring or tile work done, we will be choosing Blackburn's Interiors, Inc. in Winter Haven, FL. They literally roll out the "proverbial red carpet" for their customers. .•¨¨:•.Thank you Wally and team for the...
Read moreWARNING! Stay away from Blackburn Interiors unless you want your flooring done cheap and easy. He hires druggies (they stunk of pot and kept taking breaks to smoke some more!) and inexperienced installers to install. We needed new flooring installed in the house we bought. Well Wally was very helpful and accommodating. We went into the store and picked what he had in stock. Well little did we know what was going to happen next. He had an installer named Robert come with his so called crew. They came in, prepped the floor for the carpet, while a side contractor that Robert himself had hired installed the vinyl plank flooring in the kitchen. The guy clearly had no idea what he was doing. It took him two days to install a very small section of flooring. He complained of his knees the whole time and kept making grunting noises. Robert and the rest of his so called crew decided to leave for the day and not do anything else. The carpet sat in the garage for two days for some reason. They said they were waiting for the other guy to finish. So I called Wally. He stated that he will have them come back. So they came back smelling of pot in our new house. Wow just wow. They weren’t going to finish so Wally has someone else come in to finish the floor. They tore up what had already been done and put it back down. He did it in half the time the other guy did it in. So after about a week the vinyl flooring started to come up in a lot of places. So Wally decided to call the manufacturer and say it was the manufacturer’s fault. The manufacturer sent out an inspector. They said it was poorly installed. So all along it was the stoned installer’s fault. The manufacturer sent Wally new pallets of flooring so ours can be replaced once again. We have been going back and forth for about 8 months with Wally. He finally got the new material from the manufacturer and sent over a father and son team to redo what we thought would be the whole floor. Nope! It was only about half because they didn’t want to move any furniture or appliances (even when my wife and I already had moved most of the stuff). I noticed one of the installers circling some of the planks and asked what he was doing. He stated (which I have on video) that Wally had some old planks from the warehouse he wanted them to use before they used the new stuff. Can you believe it!? He gave us the same old stuff as used before. They finished and now the flooring is coming up again. We have tried to work with Wally to compensate us with a partial refund. He has not budged at all. He wants to keep sending in different guys to disrupt our lives and tear apart our house. How many times would YOU keep letting in a company into your house that can’t get the job done the first time? Whatever happened to workmanship, doing it right the first time, the customer is always right, and professionalism in this country? We definitely DO NOT recommend...
Read moreSorry I didn't take photos, the sales rep Matt kept me engaged the whole time I was there. I went today (Jan 31, 2019) to talk about countertops and if I don't go too high end, I want flooring too. Matt was very helpful and knows the product lines inside and out. We discussed stone countertops, that I may be able to to get a good deal from the stone yards on remnant pieces and he also showed me Formica samples in my price range. I had told him that I wanted to find something inexpensive enough that I could also afford flooring. I picked a good quality, not so high end carpet for the bedroom half of the house and a nice looking durable somewhat thin wood flooring for the kitchen/dining/formal living room side of the house. I had to go with a thinner material because my house is over 100 years old and has some uneven floors. As it is, I tested a sample and we're going to have to trim the kitchen door in order for it to open fully without getting jammed on the floor a fee inches from the wall. Matt told me, and it makes perfect sense, that the products thinner than what I chose would match the texture of the floor below it. Meaning every joint in the two inch wide beat up hardwood floor would eventually show up in the four inch wide planks. Including the patched termite damage. So sadly, I can't use a thinner product. Matt knows his stuff and I'm sure everyone working there is just as well versed. It's a family...
