Lovely store, skin care and makeup selection in a convenient location. I wish I remembered names bc there’s a young woman who appears to be in a managerial position & she is WONDERFUL. She’s knowledgeable, professional & personable. Fun, even. She selected the perfect mascara for me & for my foundation request, since they don’t carry Shiseido she recommended a similar foundation brand. I was passed on to the colorist/makeup artist. I was in a big hurry & was planning to simply look at the shades, choose one & leave. I had plans. Apparently, that was not being heard. Not to be impolite I reluctantly sat down with the makeup colorist, repeating I had to be somewhere. She chose shades & painted them on the inside of my arm saying one would be warm & complement my face color. I mentioned that I live in a hot climate & would be tanning slightly. MY fault. Although I expressed my desire for a slightly darker shade I reluctantly allowed the colorist to make my selection for me. The foundation costs around $75, I think? So now, if I ever have to wear liquid foundation on the inside of my forearm I’m all set. Or applied to my entire face, I can resemble a cadaver. lol. Ugh! Recommendation: Great store. But don’t cave to colorist recommendations. Stick to what you know about your own color...
Read moreI felt really compelled to write this review. Let me start by saying I have really, really bad eczema. I have to be so careful and read every ingredient on every label to make sure it won’t break me out in a swollen and painful rash on my face, neck and hands. That being said, I’m just a girl. I get bored of my same old skincare, makeup and fragrance. I came to this location in Winter Park, and immediately felt welcomed. The girls were so nice to me and I took a really long time reading labels and smelling different scents. I explained how bad my skin can be and the girls were helping me make perfume samples so that I can try it out slowly in my home. It honestly made my whole day. I’ve never been treated like this at the department stores. It takes me an hour to and from where I live to get to Blue Mercury. I will only come here to buy luxury beauty now. If you girls see this, thank you for making me feel special. I got to leave with some new makeup and I can’t wait to come back and get a perfume. Thank you so,...
Read moreCame by on a Saturday night. The door had no sign that indicated whether the store was open or closed, and there was no signage with their hours posted. So since the lights were on and the front door was unlocked, I assumed the store was open. Logical enough, right? Nope. An employee ran over and said they were closed. We left and she locked the door behind us. As someone who used to work in a retail store, this raised many red flags for me. First being, there should at least be a sign indicating whether or not the store is open. That seems pretty standard. Secondly, the first thing you should do when you are closing a shop is LOCK THE DOORS. This is a major safety issue for employees. Not only are you opening the store up for robbery since you must count cash at the end of the day, but there was only one female inside the store that I could see. This seems extremely dangerous even if the store is in...
