Is “Croissant Gourmet” French for “Terrible Bread?” Visited for Lunch, we were told they had only 1 croissant left. Waited 45 mins for our meals to arrive, while other groups came in after us, had their meals, and left…we asked repeatedly if they forgot our order. We were assured it was coming, “we’re just really busy”…then a server came out to let us know that 1 croissant sandwich we ordered??? They got it wrong and didn’t actually have a croissant, and literally held our order for 45 minutes because “we didn’t know what bread you wanted” they only had one other option - baguette. Pathetic.
What food arrived? panini sandwiches that were toasted on one side and literally soggy & un-toasted on the other side. After an hour wait, not a single time did they ever apologize or offer to do anything to help us.
Additionally the cleanliness of the place was disgusting, food smeared on tables and floors. You are blessed with the opportunity to bus your own table. They say they bus, but it’s a lie. One bathroom, of course out of order.
Overpriced, terrible food and even worse service. Don’t go there with anyone you care about. It’s clear everyone that works there couldn’t care less if you have even an average meal. Wish we could have tipped less, but of course you have to pay up front for their garbage food and terrible...
Read moreI came in for a baguette to enjoy with some oil and vinegar I’d just purchased at Ancient Olive. A French bakery should have a good baguette, right? This was the absolute worst baguette I have ever had. I should have known…it was too thin and looked a little sunken in on itself, and felt a little firm, but I decided to roll with it. When I got home, I was leveraging my body weight to cut it all the way through the tough crust, and my jaw ached after a few pieces, even after dipping it (soaking it, even) in oil and vinegar. It was just inedible. I ended up giving it to the dog, she seemed happy with it. I HOPE they gave me a day-old baguette. If this is their fresh product, they should be embarrassed to call themselves a French bakery (or bakery at all) if they are so incapable of producing a bread that is so quintessentially French that it has been added to both the French Ministry of Culture's and UNESCO’s Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
I ended up getting one at Publix that was better and cheaper - and edible by human standards.
The employees were friendly. Maybe their menu items are...
Read moreI give this bakery 3 stars because I have been going here for years and have always had a nice experience (until recently). Friendly staff, GREAT croissants and other bakery goods, and gorgeous location. However recently I went for lunch, a mistake, and ordered their “Classic Croissant” and a cold brew coffee. I asked the cashier, “Do you have cold brew”, to which she replied “Yes we do”. What I recieved was an over priced poorly put together sandwich along with awful cold coffee in a cup with ice, not cold brew. To make it all better they have no WiFi and have increased their prices over the last few years with not much attention to quality it seems.
To the owners I have a few notes:
1.) Cold brew and a pot of coffee put in the fridge is NOT the same thing. Please educate your staff of the difference, I’m sure I’m not the first person to encounter this let down.
2.) A ham sandwich on a croissant is not a $10 sandwich. A few years ago you also decreased the size of one or two of my favorite pastries and I believe even increased the price. From then on things have just gotten pricier.
3.)...
