Fantastic Experience for Newcomers and Veterans Alike at Warhammer in Winter Park, FL
As someone completely new to Warhammer and the hobby in general, I had no idea what to expect. After hearing about the upcoming Space Marines 2 game, I figured I'd check out the local Warhammer store. I gave them a call and spoke with Victoria, who was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also super friendly. She invited me to stop by, and Iâm so glad I did.
First off, the store itself is impressiveâclean, modern, and welcoming, which is a big contrast from some of the gaming stores I've been to in the past. When I arrived, Victoria greeted me and spent the next hour and a half walking me through everything: the lore, the board game, the miniaturesâeverything! Her passion and expertise were obvious, and she never made me feel pressured or out of place, which, as a complete beginner, I really appreciated.
The manager, Guy, also popped in and shared some great insights. Both of them were not only helpful but genuinely excited about the hobby, which made the whole experience so much better. I ended up staying for three hours, way longer than I expected, and even got to paint and take home a free miniature, which was an awesome bonus!
Whether you're an experienced hobbyist or a total noob like me, this store is fantastic. The staff is welcoming, the environment is great, and it's a perfect place to dive into the world...
Read moreThe Warhammer Store in Winter Park is always a pleasure to visit, and this remains true, even in the plague year of 2020.
To protect it's personnel and guests, the small store is largely cordoned off, with most business being done at a set of tables serving as a safe storefront, and the number of visitors at any one time being limited to 4 (unsurprising, considering the small size of the store itself). So if you're looking for a venue to game at, that seems unlikely for anytime soon. That said, staff remain helpful and courteous, while also practicing proper social distancing, mask usage, and other Covid-19 precautions. The displays remain well kept and appealing and their inventory is frequently restocked and kept full.
If you're interested in hobbying or miniature Wargames, or just want to pick up a cool SciFi or fantasy book set in Games Workshop's titular universes, I still highly recommend stopping by here. Consider shopping during the weekdays around Noon-4pm if you can, as these are good hours to avoid contact with other partons and minimize any potential waits or risks...
Read moreAbsolutely incredible shop! I've been interested in Warhammer & minis since I was a kid, but I never had the opportunity to actually give painting a shot. My girlfriend and I came into the store to grab a starter kit and take the plunge into mini painting but we left with much more. We didn't take advantage of the classes that they hold, but we were hooked up with a couple minis to get us started (the same that are offered for those attending the class). On top of that, we happened to be in on time for the free mini of the month. We went in expecting to drop a lot of money on minis and paints, but ended up leaving with 6 minis and our wallets still full thanks to the wonderful staff. Other than that, I can tell this is a great beginner-friendly environment. I expressed that I wasn't likely going to learn how to play the game itself, but they insisted that they would be more than willing to teach us anytime. Fantastic shop,...
