First & last experience shopping here for me!
Google image search actually suggested 'At Home' for a deal on a lovely large mirror that I had been looking for (showed the exact same product images/dimensions from another website) I was elated to find it at such a "deal" and ordered it for curbside pickup since it was both larger than I was comfortable loading myself and I only had a small window of time before work.
The red flags honestly should have started when they didn't have any spaces marked/designated for curbside pickup like every other store that offers it. But it was also pretty empty and @ 2PM on a weekday so I parked as close to the front door as I could (three spaces from the front) then followed the email prompts for curbside pickup (describe your vehicle, and where you're parked) and waited. After 10 minutes I tried the prompts again. After sitting out there for 20 minutes I tried calling to see if they were just really busy inside but it rang and rang with no pickup so I went inside; there are very clear signs setup for where do do pickup, it's right at the front lanes where you also checkout...except there's Nobody there. no customers, no employees, complete ghost town - not even a 'ring for service' button/sign up anywhere. Another 5 minutes passes before an associate walks over from the back sayin 'Whoops, sorry I didn't see you there,' I explained I was here for curbside pickup and had been waiting outside for a while.
She walks past me to her register and picks up her handheld scanner (from where it was sitting on the cash register at the pickup counter) to say "Oh there's the notification for your curbside order, yep let me get that - sorry I didn't hear it" (I'm not shocked she didn't hear it as she was nowhere near the thing which defeats the purpose). She explained how they're 'terrible at curbside pickup" (can confirm) and that next time I should "just come inside for faster service" (Except maybe there are people who physically can't come inside easily or lift heavy/large objects on their own and rely on advertised Curbside pickup to actually be curbside pickup?).
The box the mirror was in was really rough looking and the mirror frame itself looked like cheap plastic, but I honestly didn't have time to argue so I got it and left. The original mirror I wanted from the original retailer actually went on sale (for even less than At Home had it) the next day and I was able to easily return the cheap, disappointing knockoff that At Home carried. The only good thing I can say about this place is that the return process was nice...
Read moreNever shop here. This company has no ethics, integrity, or customer service. They were negligent in leaving MULTIPLE carts and a flatbed in the parking lot. These multiple carts and a flatbed slammed into my car so hard that it dented my trunk, scraped 5 to 7 inches of paint off, and knocked my bumper out if place.
I can understand one cart scratching my car and would never complain over a scratch. But my car was hit by a group of connected carts and caused the same level of body damage a low mile car accident would have.
The on-duty manager came out to inspect the incident. She had me fill out an incident report, and took pictures on their personal cell phone. I took pictures as well. I was told management would call after reviewing the surveillance cameras. A store representative called the next day and said they had video of the incident and would send it to their lawyer's office.
I was then contacted by At Home's lawyer's office. This was three weeks later, and only after I left three voicemails with no response (until the 4th call when I left an urgent voicemail). The lawyer on the phone told me that it was not the company's fault that MULTIPLE carts and flatbeds were NOT taken care of, and crashed into my vehicle. The lawyer told me he had seen the surveillance video of the occurrence, but I would have to call the store if I wanted to view the footage.
So, I was not allowed to see what happened to my vehicle, or to see if another car hit the carts into my vehicle which could haven been pursued with a police report.
I do not trust this company. My next course of action is to ask to see the surveillance video. But I bet that has now been erased, since At Home took weeks to respond to my incident report.very convenient.
Again, do not shop here. Don't give then your information. They are not interested in customer service, just protecting their $$$$$ interests.
Please comment a reply if you have had similar experiences with At Home, so policies to protect customers - not big...
Read moreI absolutely love this store. However, Yesterday when we were at the store, both Cashier and Manage TRIED TO rip us off. The SEASONAL ITEM WAS ON 50% CLEARANCE. The item I had grabbed didn't have a tag on it. so they LOOKED UP the SKU number on their phone and ringed it up at the full price. When I told them this ITEM is 50% off they told me it's not. I went and grabbed the same item with the Tag and 50% OFF CLEARANCE TAG. THE MANAGER REFUSED TO HONOR THE 50% CLEARANCE PRICE STATING THERE WAS A GLITCH IN THEIR SYSTEM AND HALF THE ITEM IN THE STORE ARE NOT ACTUALLY ON CLEARANCE. NOT ONLY DID I HAVE TO EXPLAIN TO HER THAT THERE ARE 10 MORE ITEMS WITH CLEARANCE TAGS ON THEM AND RATHER THAN ADJUSTING THE PRICE, SHE ACCUSED US OF CREATING A SCENE, WHILE FEDERAL LAW CLEARLY STATES THAT EVEN IF SOMETHING IS MARKED BY MISTAKE THEY HAVE TO HONOR THE PRICE OTHERWISE IT IS CONSIDERED FALSE ADVERTISEMENT.
THE MANAGER FURTHER ALLOWED ANOTHER CUSTOMER TO COME TO THE COUNTER WHILE WE WERE STILL BEING HELPED WITH OUR TRANSACTION AND ALLOWED THAT RUDE CUSTOMER TO CONTINUE BERATING US FOR HOLDING THE LINE OVER THE PHONE SHE WAS ON WITH SOMEONE. WHILE SIGN CLEARLY STATES "WAIT HERE UNTIL CASHIER IS AVAILABLE" WHICH IS ABOUT 20 FEET AWAY.
I would like corporate to contact me regarding this. This is unacceptable treatment of customers that I felt we received being colored customers vs...
