Van Otis Chocolates — Local services in Wolfeboro

I really wanted to love this place. We just moved to the area recently and needed to find a quality chocolate shop for our daughters' annual Valentine's Day gifts. We found Van Otis and everything at the shop looked great, so we ordered a lot of chocolate and fudge. While the texture of both the chocolate and the fudge were good, there was no flavor in any of it. Just none. The filling in the creams was stiff and seemed to be nothing but sugar, and we couldn't tell one flavor from the next. The fudge was the same, silky in a sort of meltaway way, but no flavor at all. Disappointing for the money spent, and especially because we probably won't eat what we bought for ourselves. Just wanted to let everyone know about a wonderful employee, who went over and above.Van Otis is very fortunate to have her. It's Tiana, I called her this week to order some swiss fudge for my sister in law and I asked her if it could be delivered and she told me that normally they do not deliver but seeing it was to be delivered locally her delivery man was going to be there Friday and on his way back to Manchester he would deliver them on Friday. Well, received a call from my brother on Saturday and he told me that no fudge had arrived. I called Tiana and she said she would check on it and get back to me, but that she would make up another box and and she would deliver it herself. This is such a great find. I had no idea that this store had opened in Wolfeboro in May of this year. I missed the fact that the candy store that is now the book store over by back bay went out of business years ago. I used to go in there all the time and get the milk chocolate Swiss truffles. I believe is what they are called and dark ones too. Well thisbstore has so many variations of them omg 😲 I was like a kid in a candy store lol 😆 but I'm all seriousness this is a well put together shop and I hope they have an amazing run with years of business and lots of customers.
