The Bay Diner — Restaurant in Wolfeboro

One of the few places we will wait an hour for. We are not local but this is absolutely one of our favorite stops when we get the chance to come back. With a 4 and 7 year old the kids meals are ok and really more for 5 and younger. My 7 year old would still be hungry with those offerings. Love that fruit is a choice and not a crazy upgrade price... But those potatoes...yummmm. We have never had a bad meal here yet. Great coffee, great potatoes, great bacon, great gravy ❣️❣️❣️ For the sake of everyone though I would love to see them put a table time limit after your food is delivered though. The customers and the staff are getting screwed but tables that want to stay 90+ minutes with a sidewalk packed with potential diners. 30 mins to enjoy your meal is very fair. Bathrooms are tricky...I very rarely see them in the wild but they are true "water closets". This place is small so if you have pets and strollers this is not your spot. The food is fantastic and with the 16 hour drive from Indiana. Seeing the same waitress was like calling this place home away from home. Will absolutely be back soon! Diners are rapidly disappearing. This one is a gem. Friendly atmosphere. Great waitress. Very accommodating to mine dietary restrictions. I had an omelette with caramelized onions. That is rare. Normally the onions and vegetables are thrown into an omelette and they are close to roll when you consume them. Not in this case. Had a western with egg whites and it was phenomenal Gluten-free toast from a bakery out of Canada. What is top notch but they come in about the home fries I made them clean but they have plenty of flavor and we’re not greasy cording to another review most home fries are made with minimal seasoning so you can put the appropriate amount of salt and pepper on them if you want to which makes sense. Great place to have breakfast. I wish I lived closer. I had a nice conversation with the owner and the locals seemed pretty friendly. Please patronize them. Wandered in off the street and soooo happy we did! ( I was just gonna go home and throw a burger on the grill) Diner is cozy with booth or counter seating and lots of small village atmosphere, helpful, happy staff and the food was fantastic. I’m a Maine-ah and retired chef/ restaurateur. Now I’m needing to recreate the taste of that scrumptiously seasoned lobster roll with butter! The red pepper soup was excellent. So happy the server recommended a grilled cheese to go with it, lol! The marbled rye made it perfect. Thin cut onion rings were tasty and crunchy. All this plus enough for a take home box for under $40. Their breakfast menu looks fantastic so we’ll definitely stop back next time I don’t feel like cooking! Thank...
