The Wicked Loon — Restaurant in Wolfeboro

We arrived for a late lunch maybe about 2:30 it was not our first choice to eat because the last time we went they were out of everything we ordered! We walked up to the host stand where we were not greeted told her five people. Moving extremely slow she set up a table for five The restaurant was not busy at this point. We sat and we were sitting there for 10 minutes and I noticed the restaurant filling up we had not been greeted by anyone, staff was walking by but no one said a word. A table of four walked in a good 15 minutes after we did and they were greeted about 10 minutes later. I then asked a waitress if we could get a server since we had been there for 20 minutes no one had even stopped by the table to say we'll be right with you. We then started looking at the menu for another restaurant right around the corner (downtown grille). FINALLY the waitress I complained to came over ...no apology NOTHING... I have been a restaurant manager for 30 years I could not have found your manager if I tried shouldn't have been walking around taking drink orders to help the staff along??? I have been coming up to lake Winnipesaukee for 30 plus years and that was one of the worst...

Wow! Had an AMAZING lunch here in Wolfeboro earlier this week with my boyfriend and we could not have been happier with our choice. First of all Abby showed us to our seat and was so sweet and personable. She even explained the separation of restaurants to us (I haven’t been in the building since it was Jo Green’s Upper Deck) and it was so informative and helpful. Plus, the view! When we realized The Wicked Loon centered more on seafood I was a little bummed because I don’t eat it, but there were a lot of choices for me regardless that I was happy to choose from. Our food was DELICIOUS — he got a crab cake sandwich and I got a Cobb salad (10/10 would order again it was so good). Patatas Bravas were out of this world. We were in heaven! We are SO grateful we had Lexi as our server — she was incredibly polite, caring, and attentive to make sure to check in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. She honestly was so perfect and her happy attitude made our day! We will FOR...

We ordered the fish and chips and it was pretty good, but at the price it could be better. Eating it without the sauce was very tasteless, so it needed the sauce.

The hostess was the best in terms of customer service. She did imply they were short staffed, which I understood, but when I saw the 2 main waitresses chatting it up between themselves or hugging customers while we sat for 20 minutes without a hello was a little much. I finally had to wave one down to order. And she was like "oh." We only got good service at the end when we were about to pay. I assume it is because the one waitress (she was different than the lady I waved down, not sure who our waitress was) wanted a good tip.

I don't like tipping below standard, but their service did not at all meet expectation. I also had to ask for more water several times and it ended up being the hostess who helped us and checked in on us.

With these prices, I expected better service. I got better service at Mcdonalds...
