STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE. Im surprised for a spa they would stress out someone so much especially who’s pregnant, my blood pressure was through the roof when I was there. I feel like they didn’t want to service me from the beginning, because the therapist was literally sitting at the front just watching all this with no 11 client in sight. I know they were lying. I wish I could put screen shot photos of phone calls made between myself & this location, and get my money back for this gift card. Hand & stone I was always told is a horrible & unprofessional chain.I wanted to see for myself, I believe those people now. Wow unprofessional, unorganized & frustrating experience. I would NOT recommend this location. ESPECIALLY for Prenatal massages unless you want to leave frustrated and left questioning many things about this establishment & staff. I’ve been trying to use a gift card for prenatal massage & this location was most convenient. I called to book an appointment on Monday Dec.16th@6:27, that was a messy experience the young lady seemed to be new, I was able to get an appointment for Thursday Dec. 19th@11. Tuesday Dec. 17th I received a call @12:41 telling me the therapist was over booked for Thursday & I would have to be moved, even tho it’s so early I didn’t understand why my appointment was the one being moved, I said it’s okay I’ll just go to another location. The location called again that same day @1:37 telling me she had cancellations if I wanted to schedule again & come in at 10 or 11, I said sure I’ll keep my original time for 11. Not a shocker with the unprofessional establishment, at check in, was told my appointment was for 10. I explained no it was for 11 & tell them about the phone CALLS I received Tuesday. I literally had to say this about 4 times to different people because no one was listening & were acting clueless. Making it seem like it was my mistake when I know it wasn’t. I kept being told it was for 10 when I know for a fact it wasn't. Supposedly they tried calling me this morning to confirm my time but “it wasn’t in service & went to voicemail”. I received many calls from them so found that hard to believe, I had them re-call me while I was there to confirm that, “did the same thing” went to voicemail said “not in service”. She wasn’t even calling my number just pretending. I had someone call me on my phone in front of them & call came thru just fine so they can see its not my phone. I said I don’t know why It doesn’t work for you guys I’ve received many calls from you guys & I just got a call, my phone its fine & theres always something with this location. The girl just stares at me not knowing what to say. Than tries pushing me off to another location in Clark calling to see if they have anything available there, while they “look into what happened today”. I asked to make sure they didn’t try to pull a fast one on me AGAIN, & Thank god I wasn’t charged for a non-cancellation fee for 50% of service. Just a joke, I have things to do & am not being inconvenienced to go to another location becase of their carelessness or just not wanting to service me. Read moreI had a very disappointing experience at Hand & Stone in Woodbridge, NJ. My husband physically went inside to book my facial appointment, but when I arrived, they immediately told me there was no appointment in the system. Instead of handling the situation professionally, they spoke to me from their desk while I was seated, repeatedly insisting there was no booking. It wasn’t until I mentioned who had taken the appointment that they suddenly admitted it might not have been entered correctly.
They eventually said they would check if someone could still do the facial, but when I got to the back, the esthetician clearly looked like she was ready to clock out rather than provide a relaxing service. She rushed through the instructions, making me feel unwelcome and uneasy. The facial itself was rough. She slapped the products on my face, was aggressive with the warm towel, and overall, it felt rushed and careless. When I expressed that it didn’t feel like a relaxing facial, rather than adjusting her technique or showing concern, she immediately asked, “Would you like to end the service?” That response confirmed that she had no intention of improving the experience.
The saddest part? This was supposed to be a birthday treat for me. Facials are not cheap, and I expected a relaxing, enjoyable experience. Instead, I left feeling disappointed and frustrated. My husband later called to express his disappointment, and they did offer a complimentary appointment to make up for the situation. However, after this experience, I’m not even sure I want to return to this location.

Read moreDec 12, 2021. My appointment was made on Dec 10 on the phone by me. Appt. was at 3.30 PM for Dec 12. I received a phone call at 10 AM on Dec 12, saying there was a cancelation and if I want to come in at 11 AM. I said it was a very short notice and I cannot make it. I will stick to 3.30 PM. I arrive at 3.10 PM at the Woodbridge, NJ location. The lady says someone with my name called at 2.17 PM and canceled the appointment. The caller said she has a shoulder pain and will not be able to drive. They charged my card 50% of the service fees, as the cancelation was done in less than 24 hours. When I told her to find the number from the caller ID on their phone and call the person back, she was unable to do so. First, she kept on saying she is not finding the number. Then she said she found it and called that number, but the person hung up immediately. She refused to call the person back anymore. This cannot be true. I strongly feel they messed up something at their end and now completely made up this entire story. I asked for a refund. They initiated a transaction. I am waiting for the refund to show up on my bank account. I am extremely sorry to say, these guys cannot be trusted. They should have called and told me that today's appointment needed to be canceled for whatever reason. But, it was a complete lie that they said and this was not expected.
