I have to share an incredibly unpleasant experience where we as customers were profiled at this store. First I should say, the saleswoman Jess who helped us was absolutely amazing. She was helpful, showed us everything we wanted to look at, and made an effort to book an appointment with us for the future for a gem show they are going to have in store.
Now the bad: a different saleswoman, an older woman with fake blond hair, basically sabotaged any efforts Jess made. Jess had unlocked a case for us and was talking us through the pieces in the case. I was trying the pieces on. Blondie, who didnāt bother to give us her name - walked up to us WHILE WE WERE LOOKING AT THE JEWELRY and closed it and locked it back up. Right in front of me and my fiancĆ©ās face. It was clear that she thought, based on my fianceās appearance, that we are not worthy customers. My fiance has long hair and was wearing colorful clothing. Probably not what this woman thinks is an ideal customer. This woman continued to give my fiance looks up and down as we browsed.
Then, when I put an earring on to try, again WITH our saleswoman Jess, this blond ran up to us to spray the earring clean, clearly to send a message that we were dirty or something. She made a big show of spraying the earring right in front of me as if I had done something wrong when 1. Jess could have handled that herself and 2. It did not need to be done right then, right there. I understand jewelry should be cleaned between customers but there was NO ONE else in the store, so if she had any customer service brains she should have simply waited till we left to do her little spraying so as not to insult us. Also she had absolutely no business interrupting Jess many times in such a rude manner while she was doing a great job serving us, the customers.
Maybe blondie didn't realize I am a very educated gem and fine jewelry collector. I only shop at independent jewelry stores, and this is exactly why. I have never been so insulted as a customer, and Jess lost a sale because of her colleague. Management take note - you have a very rude employeee sabotaging sales because she is an elitist snob. I went to Helzberg Diamonds next door and was served very well by the male...

I donāt usually wear jewelry and I donāt really have a style so I went in there wide eyed and open to try on rings and any helpful hints and guidance. The woman that helped us seemed short and impatient. I asked to look at one ring, tried it on, asked to try on another ring and requested another ring to try on. My request to try on the 3rd ring was met with you donāt seem to know what you want (umm no which is why I am trying rings on) and that I just needed to get a solitaire ring and pick a setting later when I knew what I wanted. I was there to try on rings to see what I liked. And maybe that was solid advice IF she didnāt sound annoyed that I was asking to try on a 3rd ring. So instead of trying on just the 3rd ring, I told my boyfriend I was done and we instead went to a local standalone jewelry store.
I was met with a much nicer representative who seemed perfectly fine with me trying on different rings and I tried on a LOT. I was there for over an hour very indecisive but got to narrow down to 3 rings with the help of the representative. I came back one week later to try on more rings and finally settled with a ring (Verriago) and a diamond. I really liked Kay and that is what I originally planned on going for a ring....I literally only had Kay in mind but the woman really put a sour taste in my mouth. I will never go to Kay...
