I can't say enough great things about the team here at Woodbridge Archery. I started out two years ago with a basic Genesis bow that I got online for my son and I. I took it there to get some tips and they told me its a basic bow but good for learning. Any quesitons I had about it or shooting in general they would always help.
When I finally got to the point where I could get an actual hunting bow I went back. Got a great deal for a new Diamond Pro 320. Of course along with purchasing it there they will set it up. This is a huge value and why I always recommend people buy their bows there in person and not online. With the bow price comes them setting it up and a lesson for you how to shoot it.
When I came back the next day they gave me my intro lesson and gave me some homework to do. I had to follow their steps for three weeks. At first I was a little annoyed as they said to only stay around 15 feet away and shoot 30 arrows a day. Don't move back and don't shoot more. YOu need to perfect your form.
I had some small issues with the release I bought which they easily let me return and get a new one at no cost. It was the release companys fault which was nice. I also took it back a few times to help straighten our the peep hole, which they did at no cost.
Now, I've had it for about two months and I hit the bullseye almost every time. I go to the shooting range in Old Bridge and see people there who have been shooting for years, and now I outshoot them. I also see people new at it like me, who also purhcased their bows here but never followed the rules. I see them stand weird and dont put their feet in the right place and other things that Dom made sure to tell me when he trained me. If only they listened!
Bottom line is archery isn't a cheap sport. If you put the money in and be open to their expert advice, you'll do just as well as me. I still call them up for questions and they are always up for helping. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area looking to get...
Read moreWanting to expand into bowhunting, I visited Dom’s shop after hearing nothing but positive things about him via word of mouth. Dom spent about an hour with me showing me the function and technology in new compound bows, as well as several models while addressing the pros and cons of them all. He was obviously extremely knowledgeable, but was more concerned with fitting me with the right bow for what I wanted, what I wanted to spend, and, most importantly, helping me find a bow that I would be shooting for years instead of buying something I would want to replace in a few. More than once he said I don’t want you spending money twice. He never tried to upsell me to the highest flagship models, and instead went over what they offered versus what he was recommending to me. I went back the next day with the boss (my wife), and Dom and Doug both answered any questions she had all over again concerning the bow before we made the purchase. They were also both highly professional in assisting another customer that had been sold a used bow that was clearly not set up correctly for him from a larger chain store in an effort to get it right without breaking his wallet. When I picked up the bow, Doug and Dom were also awesome during the lesson and getting the bow tuned and sighted properly. Their explanations were straightforward, and the tweaks they offered focused on solid fundamentals. As a hunter and avid fisherman, this is why in the Internet age it is important to buy local from knowledgeable guys that take their time to assist you personally and truly fit you the right way. You’re not getting that level of service or personal attention over an 800 number. I also know that down the road, they will be there for any adjustments, questions, or assistance I need in the future. Visit Dom and Doug- you won’t be disappointed. A+ service and...
Read moreI came in to set up my new compound bow that I purchased online expecting to pay for the setup obviously but the guy wanted $250 just to set it up. He then went out insulting my bow, and how I purchased it online telling me I should never purchase anything archery related online. when I told him it just wasn’t worth me paying half of the price of my bow set it up. He got upset and basically said I didn’t know what I was talking about and if I have anybody else set it up for me they’re not gonna do it right and if it’s set up wrong I’ll learn wrong and I’ll never be good and that he is the only one that set it up correctly. I asked if he could at least measure my draw length so I can buy errors from him and he can help me cut them. He said he does everything for 250 or nothing at all. He said that if I would’ve bought the bow from him, he would do all of that for free so he’s just charging me the difference and what he would’ve made if I bought a bow from him. I obviously left upset because I drove 30 minutes to get there. I went to Cheyenne Mountain Outfitters in Bordentown right after and met the sweetest gentleman named Roger who helped me set up my bow to perfection he spent an two hours with me setting up every little thing to the right measurements he even had me shoot a couple groups just to make sure everything is perfect and didn’t even charge me a dime for him time or help with the setup the only thing I paid for was the arrows I wasn’t even charged for him cutting them for me and setting up the tips and everything great guy. I 1000% recommend saving your time and money just going straight to Cheyenne Mountain Outfitters. Their politeness and customer service is beyond perfect...
