If I could leave less than 1 star I would.
I ordered pants and shirts from the Joseph A. Bank in Brookfield, WI for my wedding. They were sent to locations in four cities around the country (St. Louis Park, MN - Tampa, FL - Green Bay, WI - Woodbury, MN), where the groomsmen were located. However, only the Woodbury store was incompetent enough to not only lose a pair of the pants, but after one of my guests travel 5 hours round trip (the closest location for this guest) to be measured for alterations, they tried to make him purchase the pants again. I had already purchased the pants at the Brookfield store and they had overnighted them to Woodbury via FedEx.
I called repeatedly to let them know the situation and was met consistently with confusion by a worker named Nathan, who said he didn't know where the pants were and he didn't have time to look for them. Hours later, they came to the realization that they didn't have the pants, presumably they had sold them - again, even though I had already purchased these pants and hand them shipped.
When I reported the dilemma to the Brookfield location, they assured me they would resolve this situation and just asked that I send the measurements taken from Woodbury. When my fiance called Woodbury for the measurements, Nathan (the worker who continued to say this wasn't his problem and he didn't have time to look for the pants) told her they had thrown the measurements out. When my fiance, near tears, asked why they would do that when they knew we clearly knew we would need those to get the pants at that the wedding was 3 weeks away so this wasn't acceptable, he laughed at her. He didn't apologize, he laughed at her anxiety and discomfort over their mistake.
This is atrocious customer service and really unfortunate, because the store itself provides a decent product for a decent price. But at the cost of items being lost after they're purchased, a complete disregard for anyone not purchasing something from their store that day, and being laughed at when their store makes an error just weeks before the wedding, I would recommend that no one...

What should have been an opportunity for the business to make a good impression on the simplest of transactions (one white shirt) nearly resulted in me walking out without making a purchase. In hindsight I wish I would have left and gone to my regular places in St. Paul (I won't name them here but Google St. Paul Haberdashery if you want a decent men's clothing store). There is also a place not far from Lake Nomomis in Minneapolis that specializes in shoes where you can find more casual clothing and will be treated like a million bucks.
I can't really speak to the quality of the shirt at this time. It was cheaper than most of the shirts I buy, and for that reason alone I probably would have considered returning had I been treated even slightly better. Based on his facial expressions and repeatedly heavy sighs & groans, there was a time while I was in the store that I felt I had somehow inconvenienced the gentlemen helping me. The thing is I knew exactly what I needed so it shouldn't have been that tough for him to ring me up and get me out the door.
Sadly, after I left I couldn't help but think that I may have been treated much better had I been dressed (and groomed) for work; hopefully I'm wrong about this but they're not getting a second chance regardless. I'll stick to the haberdasheries in St. Paul, especially for anything last minute - I just wish one of them was located...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBought 2 coats and 6 shirts about 3 weeks ago. Tried on in store and seem to fit ok, Or so I thought. The salesman offered to remove the tags after purchase on the coats and I said sure. I now know why he did that, He knew they looked a bit tight (which I discovered when I wore one to work that they were) thats why he offered to take the tags off. Once the tags have been removed you can not return them. Ok no big deal, I was told alterations were free, they are not. When I went and talked with the store Manager I was told the tags are off so they can't be returned but they would alter them for $35 each. What? I thought they had fit in store but now they seem tight, he told me I probably gained weight because it had been 3 weeks, rude!. I thought maybe they were tighter because I had a thin shirt on and no under shirt on when I 1st tried them on, the manager told when he tries stuff on the fit doesn't change with different shirts for him (just trying to make excuses at that point it seemed). The reason it took me three weeks is because when I bought them I was going on vacation for 2 weeks soon after. So I had worn one of them about 2 days after purchase. Needless to say the store manager needs some customer service skills and they need to hire honest sales people. I will not...
