Wow. I cannot express my disappointment with the level (or lack thereof) of customer service today - It was complete and utter rudeness to the customer. I was there to make an even exchange for 2 items I received as a gift for the holidays and they were the wrong size. So I began by kindly asking where I may find the same or similar items in their store - with a retort from the first employee of âoh, well, I usually donât work in this store so I am not sure I will be able to help youâŚ.â I thought that was odd, but rolled with it as the initial salesperson handed me off to the manager. Great! I thought this is good!
This is where things took a negative turn. The manager first looks at the box I was holding and loudly states âwe have not had those kind of boxes here for months!â (to which I simply told her my husband had received it in the shipment he ordered directly from Soma in early December). Then she asked to see the items I wanted different sizes in, to which she then asksâdo you have a receipt or not (all the while glaring at me). Then when I told her that I would have to quick call my husband to see if he had it (again she demanded a receipt as I asked her if she may be able to look the order information up some other way, either by our phone number, etc) to which she loudly (almost shouted) âNo - we donât do that HEREâ (as if I should already know this).
Then the conversation took another twist when I showed her the items I wanted a different size in - well this sent her almost over the edge because she told me that âthe one item we have not carried in this store for months and the other one we have, but youâll have to try it on as the fit changes with every itemâ. (yep - I knew that - and, I did not sign up for a lecture, thanks.) So I tried the product on, and lo-and-behold; The size I had requested to begin with was exactly what I ended up withâŚâŚ ugh. (oh yes - and literally she came back to the dressing room so fast that it only gave me time to undress, and get one of the 3 items onâŚ.) Then she asked which one fit, and when I told her I had only tried one on she scoffed and said she would come back laterâŚ.)
I was so sad today leaving that store as I felt I had gotten completely humiliated and disrespected and not given the kind of very positive customer service I had known previously during all the other wonderful experiences I had in the past.
Soma, I will never shop at this (Woodbury, MN) location again as you are a customer service based retail establishment where your customer requires attention that is unique and personal, and obviously the leadership at this store does not...
   Read moreI visited Soma in Woodbury Minnesota on Friday, August 18th 2023. They are having a sale on their bras and I wanted to âstock-up.â
The woman in the store who helped me that afternoon was so helpful! My goodness what amazing customer service! She must have returned (to the changing room I was using) with 30 options for me by the time I had finished. And she accomplished this while assisting other customers. She is so kind and knowledgeable and really fast but I did not feel rushed! And the nice young woman who ârang-up my items was so kind and wrapped each item so carefully.
I purchased five new bras that afternoon so I am building a good supply. But it will not be my last visit to this store. This kind of customer service is rare in todayâs world.
I would much rather visit a store, receive this kind of outstanding service and leave with items I know will fit than try to order items online and return those items time after time until finding something that acceptable. I believe this is a much more efficient and convenient way to shop. I knew what I was buying right away and I was done in a short period of time.

   Read moreI had planned to purchase new bras this evening, I entered the store at 7:15 pm and was greeted. I shared with the 2 sales associates that I was shopping for bras. They looked me up in the system to review my past purchases and size. One of the gals helped me with a couple different styles and led me to the dressing room. No one ever checked on me to see if I needed a different size or check the fit of either bra. I got dressed and walked out to get help. Both sales associates were helping another customer at the register. I water a couple minutes thinking one of them would assist me, but that didnât happen. I then placed the bras on the counter and commented that perhaps Iâll come back when they werenât so busy! Immediately one of the sales gals apologized and said she could help me as I was walking out the door!
