I absolutely love the “new” Center Square Zallies Shoprite , excluding the deli which needs more workers ( hint hint). The employees are SO friendly & helpful !! Yes, prices are pretty much insane but this is everywhere; I take advantage of the sales & store coupons & if you have time to check the circular it may very well be worth ur while, that being said, the sale prices can be very wacky. For instance….Peaches have been $5 a lb , tday they’re on sale for $1. Butterball deli Turkey is $6 lb, paid $9.50 last week. Sea scallops are $20 lb, compared to $30 regular price. Zallie’s pound cake whole loaf $5 , sliced $6.50. You can’t make this stuff up !! Sampled Gouda cheese , all set to buy some until I saw price..$23 a lb. And there was only one on the shelf of the variety that I sampled & liked ! What’s up with that ?!? I also sampled a crab cake - delicious !! And I bought a salmon cake for $3 , a lil larger than a golf ball, delicious as well. All Zallie’s, by the way. I can’t say enough about the grilled salmon in the heat & eat section , definitely yum ! The pharmacy never has a line & Ken & Matt are always smiling !! There is one thing I wish wud change, tho, & that’s that the pharmacy & seafood dept uses staples to close the bags, so if ur buying a bag of snow crab legs, you have to be ever so careful to remove the staples before you dig into bag, they are tiny & can slip onto ur food without seeing them. Also, shoppers return their carts to the cart thingy all by themselves, go figure, lol. It keeps the parking lot looking cleaner. So, there you have it folks; hope this...
Read moreI'll start by saying that I've shopped here regularly since the stores grand opening. As others have said, yes, it's a beautiful store. That being said, my experience today was horrifying. I'll explain...
I was waiting at the deli counter for my cold cut order, when a customer next to me asked for two stuffed peppers. The lady working the deli counter put the peppers in a container and before she could put the lid on the container it fell on the floor.
The deli worker then put two fresh stuffed peppers in a new container and gave it to the customer, who then walked away.
While I was waiting for my last item I saw the worker pick up the peppers from the floor, reshape the stuffing with her hands, and place them back in the refrigerated tray in the display case while the other workers looked on. I asked her, "Aren't those the peppers that fell on the floor?". She had the audacity to say to me, "Yes, but they didn't fall out of the container.". I said, "What difference does that make! They were on the floor! I'm going to find a manager and I hope you all lose your jobs."
I found a manager named "Ray" and told him the situation and pointed out the worker who put the food back into the display case. I also said to him that if they are doing that right in front of customers, I'd hate to see what they are doing that we don't see. He said that he was going to take action. Hopefully this is true.
I'm not going to bash the entire staff. My other shopping experiences have been great. I just won't be using the deli or purchasing any store prepared foods...
Read moreI have to send this post out because I was so thrilled and happy when I saw the bouquet that was made by Nicole at the ShopRite Swedesboro store. I have to tell you my story. I had called around to florists all over about getting a ballet bouquet for my granddaughter and I wanted the flower Iris. I found a place in Swedesboro that said that they could get it so I ordered the bouquet to pick up today. When I arrived to pick up the bouquet, the 6 pink roses that were incorporated were brown and wilted at the top (dying at the tips and were slightly opened) which told me they would not fully open. They looked dry and wilty (like they were sitting out and not refrigerated). I said I would pay for it, however I expected a better and was disappointed. The price for the bouquet was $60 and she said you do not have to pay for it since you do not like it and offered me something else. I was really out of time (and felt the florist had lower standards for quality) so I respectfully declined. I went into ShopRite to pick up one more thing and I happened to walk by the floral department and asked about a ballet bouquet and told the girl my story and that I was in a hurry. Not only did the florist that I spoke to (Nicole) create something well beyond my expectations, but she made me a beautiful bouquet in less than 10 minutes (that is true talent). The bouquet was absolutely breathtaking and half the price of the florist shop. I am not a regular customer at ShopRite, however I will tell you that I will be a regular customer at their floral department. Thank...
