I was excited when I saw a new option on DoorDash, especially Mediterranean/Turkish food. The reviews were great and the photos of the food on DoorDash looked delicious, but in my opinion are very misleading. I ordered the Beef Gyro Platter which is supposed to come with the meat, mediterranean rice, side salad and sauces. The photo shows the mediterranean rice as well as a side salad (tomatoes, cucumbers, olives & parsley), fries, and the meat. I received a platter with plain white rice that was dry and hard, beef that was very overcooked and the salad was more like a pico de gallo with cucumbers, chopped extremely fine and I did not receive fries - I guess fries are an add on item, but the photo was misleading. The flavors were good, but my order did not seem fresh. I also ordered various sauces - all were excellent! The Falafel were crispy on the outside and very good. The cheese Borek were just OK. The baklava seemed to be made of puff pastry instead of phyllo dough, but I could be wrong - flavor was good though. I also ordered the carrot mezze - I have seen this prepared a few different ways. Unfortunately, it looked nothing like the photo and did not look or taste like any other carrot mezze I've tried. I also assumed that the carrot mezze would come with a pita or something to dip, it did not. If you offer individual pitas for purchase, you should add that to door dash so people ordering hummus or other items can order pita to go with it. I received my order quickly so I can't really attribute any of these issues to long delivery time. Maybe dining in is better than delivery. Excluding tip, tax and delivery fees, my order was $50 which was after receiving 25% off on a few different items. In my opinion the food was not worth $50. Maybe I will try dining in to see if that's any better because other people seem to...
Read moreAfter visiting the Swedesboro ShopRite grocery store in a Sunday amongst dozens of Philadelphia Eagles fans, it was already time for lunch. A quick search and I found C&C that was only three minutes away. Actually it was just on the other side of the intersection. We walked in and were immediately greeted with a smile and a hello from owner, Sonya. We ordered gyros and some hummus with peta bread points. Everything was better than we expected. it was incredible. We talked with other patrons there in the coffee shop/restaurant about where everyone was from and what they were doing that day and about their orders and they loved their food too. We already look forward to going to ShopRite next time so we can swing by and try...
Read moreHungry nurses working the weekend, ordering via DoorDash. My friend got the salad which she said the chicken was dry and the salad was basically like a regular salad she could throw together at our cafeteria salad bar. The cheese borek rolls were delicious. I got the chicken gyro platter. Chicken and rice and tiziki was good but the side salad was meh. The most disappointing thing : I also ordered the side of humus… the humus was delicious but it did not come with any pita nor was pita an option to order a side of. What’s the point of serving humus without something to...
