My first time (and last time) in this store, I had the most BIZARRE experience…I don’t know this middle aged, huge bug-eyed, short dark haired woman’s name who worked there. She did not have a name tag.
It was Sunday, Oct. 15, around 10:30am when I went in to pick up 2 DoorDash orders. I approached her with a smile, very politely told her what I needed and, before I could continue to the customers’ names, she cut me off and very RUDELY said that I’m going to have to wait a few minutes. At this time, no one else was in the shop. I simply said, “Okay,” backed up away from the counter a few steps, and took out my phone to browse while I wait. This is where it gets weird….
She offered me a seat just a few seconds later at a table to which I replied, “Oh, no thank you. I’m good standing.” She then DEMANDED that I take a seat! 😯 I sort of chuckled thinking she could not be serious, and told her that I don’t want to. She continued to insist and said, “I would prefer it if you sat down to wait.” 🤨Now I’m in complete disbelief and responded by saying, “Well I prefer to stand right now and I think I have the right to decide for myself what my body does…”
She then decided she was not going to get me my DoorDash orders 😣 I did not have time for this so I just walked away looking for something in the store real quick, like a sign that might have a phone number to call for complaints.
At this point, a handful of customers come in and as I’m looking around the store I hear the employee talking about me to the customers. I could not understand how someone could be so unprofessional and disrespectful at their workplace! I defended myself to the people telling them what had happened. The employee interrupted me, told me to leave, and picked up the phone to call the cops. 🤥 🙄
I waited for them eager to tell them about her completely irrational behavior and of course, they knew I could not “write” this 🤣
I was out just trying to make a living and I lost time which means I also lost money. 😠 DoorDash was able to still compensate me at least half of what I should have made. They also reported the store, leaving them unable to make orders with DoorDash. 🤷♀️✌🏼
Now I started thinking (because I felt desperate to understand what the hell just occurred) 🤔🙃 maybe she has special needs because it might be the only explanation for this unusual encounter. Unfortunately, I don’t have a higher up position that I can go to or I absolutely would. I would like to share my experience with the public . I’ve never written publicly before to leave a review, but I feel like it’s important that future customers know what they are dealing with, and to avoid going to this coffee shop at all costs. my friend and I showed up ready to order food and drinks . we brought Outside things from another coffee shop, but we had every intention of ordering some thing . we sat down to plug in our laptops, and the owner of the shop aggressively came over, asking us what we were going to order and if we were going to order to which I responded absolutely . I just needed a little time to decide . she proceeded to walk away point aggressively at my friend and I and spoke to another coworker very rudely about the two of us, and then came over again . I was about to order a banana and she interrupted me saying you need to leave you need to leave over and over again . I wasn’t argumentative, but I did speak to another coworker at the coffee shop, explaining that we were about to order food and she kept speaking over us, saying that we had to leave . she got very close to my face, and I was extremely uncomfortable . she was loud enough for all of the other customers to hear and I continued to tell her that we were going to leave. She needed to give us a minute to pack your things and she just kept aggressively saying that we needed to get out . Read moreThere’s a lot of potential here but I didn’t have a very good experience. Some of the negatives are reminiscent of when they were located on kings highway in Swedesboro. The one lady is always really stressed out and then in turn it makes me stressed out, I feel bad for her but It definitely keeps me from returning. It was the same situation before at the other location. When I ordered, I wanted to pay. She insisted we could settle up later. I wound up waiting in a 20 minute line to pay at the end! The layout is extremely disorganized. For instance, there was a pastry case but they keep provisions in it. You can’t tell at a glance what they sell. Its hard to tell where to order and where go wait. As far as the quality of the food, we may have had an off day, but I was not impressed. The pastry was dry and the frozen latte was terrible, they should not sell it. The breakfast item was ok but it was definitely premade and then reheated.
