My wife and I were in Yachats for our anniversary weekend and came across this gem (literally) of a Rock Shop! This store is well maintained with merchandise placed in a manner that makes everything easy to find and/or look through. The owner is very friendly & accomodating. When we mentioned that we cut our own rocks he took the time to show us other rocks he had available that we may be interested in. We were sight seeing the next day and realized it would have been a good idea to get the name of the reference book he uses for rock identification, so we stopped by again. The owner was more than accomadating in not only sharing that information but pointing out another book that would probably be of great use. He also remembered we were rock cutters and mentioned that an earlier customer brought a few saws by that morning, giving me a wonderful opportunity to buy one and add to my own inventory. Whether a person is a serious lapidary (slabber/cabber), or somebody who loves pretty rocks, bones and other geological wonders, this store has something for you. And, if you are into stone cutting, ask if he may have some rough rock for sale. He will probably give you a fantastic deal if you are looking to buy a large amount. It is almost like stepping into a geology museum instead of a store. Enjoy the visit, find a nice souvenir!

A little story about the kindness of strangers. I was camping next to an elderly native couple. I woke up and saw the man widdling a knife. I am native too and he reminded me so much of my grandpa. I am disabled and forgot my cane and he noticed and after five minutes of chatting brought me the most beautiful turquoise inlayed cane he made with diamond willow wood from Alaska. It took him two months to make and he insisted I take it. I wanted to give him some more stones to make more things as a thank you and stumbled upon this shockingly beautiful store. I told the owners about my story and they were so touched and said they wanted to pay it forward and gifted me some beautiful crushable turquoise for his next cane. I also bought a stunning turquoise stone from behind the glass. This trip reminded me of the goodness of strangers and I am so grateful. The man was very excited to use the stones as well! I've never seen such a beautiful store and will definitely be back. Thanks again for making a trip I will never forget.

I love it here and will be back! There are fossils, crystals of all types I have never seen. This place has great prices and bargains! They have very expensive stuff and very cheaply priced stuff. It all seemed very reasonable, especially for a coastal touristy shop! They had a store dog who was a sweetheart. I will be back to get some trilobites for my friend as a gift. They also had shirts for sale for 12 dollars and I really want one next time I go. There is so much to look at and there are casts of dinosaurs!!! Super amazing place bursting with crystals and fossils.

A must-stop rock shop for kids and adults of all ages! We stopped at this rock shop while visiting Yachats, and I highly recommend stopping if you are close by. The gem mining for kids was the best we've EVER done, and my son loves rocks so we've done many touristy gem mining locations across the country. This one was hands down the best. The kids' haul of rocks was an incredible value for the money, and my kids were so excited with what they received. The owners inside the shop were so genuinely wanting to help us, and friendly. When I checked out, I was asked if I found any treasures and I replied that I did not but my son did and that's all that matters :) and then the woman at the register handed me a cute little rock carving of an owl and said "well now you do too". I was blown away by such a nice gesture! So happy to support such a wonderful local shop where kindness seems to be top priority....
