Originally, I walked over to dream machine coffee, but when I saw the prices, it was a nightmare! 4$ for a small coffee, and it's not even roasted in house over there, plus the air was thick with pretentiousness - the kind of coffee place where they think they're splitting the atom, so I figured I would try Toppers, and what a wonderful choice that was! One of the few places in town that's not gouging tourists with exorbitant prices, Toppers had some delicious Huckleberry cheesecake ice cream - which I got a single dish of and also a small coffee for $2.25 - which the pleasant and kind young gal warned that she wasn't a coffee expert, and so I wasn't sure of the quality, but it actually is some damn good beans and she brewed a perfect and strong cup quickly. Definitely go to this place if you don't want to get gouged, and you also have the bonus of some nice ice cream selection, and pleasant people as there was a young man working there also and both had an air of service and humility - which is the kind of business I love to give to!

Just visited yesterday. My wife and I had gone in to the market across the street for some provisions, and I almost bought some saltwater taffy there (under $4 a lb) but I thought since we were visiting the coast, I would stop by this shop and get the locally made stuff, much like the candy shops in Newport that make their own. We walked in to the shop, and there was a wall of taffy, just what I was looking for. Almost $8.00 a pound, but I figured I was paying for some local taffy, so it would be worth the premium. Bought about a pound of various flavors...got back to our beach house and ate one. A little stale. The wax paper had a name on it, “Taffy Town”. Look them up online and it is some mass production company out of Utah. Kind of like going to Hawaii and eating a pineapple imported from South America....they can’t source from a local shop?

I couldn't stop talking about my butter toffee crunch malt with a shot of espresso all the way back to Portland. I want one every single day. I never wanted it to end. Literally, best malt to ever enter my body. Thank you!!!!!! Also- the saltwater taffey is incredible!!!! My husband loved his hazelnut latte! Thank you! Missing this place already!

Just dropping a review in the hopes that the business owner sees this. We stopped in here on Thursday, 05/08/25, at around 4:00pm. It was our dog’s birthday and we wanted to get her a small cup of vanilla ice cream as a treat. There was only one guy working behind the counter (mohawk hair under a baseball cap, red t-shirt) and we asked for a small vanilla scoop in a cup. He put two large scoops in a cup for us, which was very nice but way too large of a serving for our dog to eat. He had set the cup on the counter, but we had not taken a step forward or even touched the cup. I asked him if there was any way he could put some of the ice cream back and give us a smaller, child-size serving in the same cup - I had not realized how big the normal serving would be. Without saying a word, the man glared at me and threw the cup of ice cream in the trash. He then asked, sarcastically, “Why would you do that?” When I mumbled, “Sorry…” and tried to smile, his only reply was another glare and a sarcastic, “Why wouldn’t you just take it?” (meaning the original cup of ice cream). I hadn’t intended to waste ice cream at all; I had only been hoping that he could put some of it back in the carton, since no one had touched it and it had been scooped into a clean cup. I wish he had explained my options to me instead of throwing away ice cream and yelling at me. I would have happily paid for the larger serving size instead of wasting ice cream. I will not be coming back here...

My wife, parents, and I stopped in to have some ice cream after eating at Lunas and were treated well and had delicious ice cream. The only unfortunate event was experiencing the incident which occurred between the reviewer below (Tessa) and the proprieter in which she came in to ask if there was a local tax. The owner went on to explain there was and how it worked and it was not something he had The ability to change. She continued to interrupt while we were trying to order and was extremely rude stating that there were much better places to go and that she was going to write a negative review. I felt the owner showed great restraint in not tossing the woman out on her ear as she actively tried to sabotage him. Once she left, he was wonderfuly courteous and the ice cream was excellent. I only hope that no one is turned off by her review. Thank you to the owner for making another great...
