A 6-Star Experience & OMG, the Lemon Poppy Scones!
What a pleasant surprise in the heart of Yachats with a fantastic view of the ocean! And… yes, you can watch the surfers while you sip on your frothy cappuccino! But, best of all are the nice folks who own this café! They provide individualized attention to each customer who walks through their door – and go beyond full-service expectations. (No, this isn’t fancy schmancy white table cloth type o’ place – it’s very casual & modern chic – Plus, they have a very meditative/Zen type o’ washroom!).
I was a big fan in how they prepared their espresso (which is sourced from SurfTown Coffee Roasters in Newport, OR). They knew the proper methods on how to brew a perfect espresso – not too bitter and not too “roasty.” – and gently poured into a locally sculpted mug – because why waste your cappuccino experience in a paper cup? And… yes, they have cashew milk. Yum.
Want just a cup of coffee? Expect it to be cold brew dripped in one of those fancy schmancy spiral coffee towers – Yes, you can watch while your coffee’s being made.
Oh… the food: Think brunch with a fusion twist… you know, like microgreens topped on your goat cheese frittata topped (optional) with house-made, perfectly flavored barbacoa beef paired with a side of chilled yogurt-based cucumber & cilantro soup.
Most everything on the menu (and in the restaurant) is regionally sourced or made in-house (dressings, breads, soups, sauces, etc.) – and most items can be made vegan upon request. And, they have gluten-free options.
Last, but not least: The lemon poppy scones – Holy Cow. Fresh, moist, fluffy, and perfectly lightly crisp on the outside – with quite the burst of flavor. Please do not leave the café without trying one.
Expect an embracing welcome from the owners of Beach Street Kitchen – they’re enthusiasm flows into every detail of the restaurant, which helps to create a magical experience...
Read moreI can't have dairy or eggs so breakfast places are always hard to find when traveling outside of Portland. Also, we had our dog with us. Beach Street kitchen met all of our needs ! I really liked the vibe with all the plants around the little house. You could see the Yachats state park and beach which was beautiful 😍 We sat outside with our dog. There are only two picnic tables, two small cafe tables and a few chairs. Luckily, with our party of 5 adults, baby and dog we are able to snag a picnic table and fold up chair for the end.
You ordered inside at the counter. I didn't spend much time inside but it looked nice. There was bar seating that faced the beach and tables.
It took them a LONG time (45 minutes) to bring us our food after ordering. It did say on their door that they were short staffed but there weren't that many other people to serve in front of us it seemed like. A couple with a one year old who were sitting next to us had to change their order to go since it was taking too long and they needed to go. They reported that the bloody Mary was delicious!
When our food arrived we were starving so I ate one of my plant based breakfast taco before I could snap a picture. My husband was eating half of his bacon and egg breakfast burrito too. The food was delicious but the portions were tiny for the price and no sides except silly microgreens. We both could have eaten a second serving of each of our orders. If there was a side of potatoes or chips to fill you up more that would be greatly appreciated.
I also got a mixed berry lemon smoothie which was so tasty 😋 Beware of the paper straws melting in the smoothie and grab a few extra. My baby was very confused by the paper straws and tried to eat them, lol.
Overall, the vibe and view were fantastic 🤩 Be aware of small portions and possibly having to wait for your food...
Read moreThe Beach Street Kitchen is an up and coming dining experience that you won’t want to miss! Ok let’s just say this is Yachats newest and hippest place to eat! We popped in Saturday mid morning and were promptly met and greeted by our waiter Brian who also happens to be one of the owners. The building is clean and inviting with a good atmosphere, the interior is a custom design with a wooden sound barrier wall and trim, and the tables were hand made by the owners so it has a nice cozy feel to it. Whether you’re in the mood for a nice breakfast or a light lunch with a glass of wine the menu has a simple but delicious variety to choose from with reasonable prices too. I went with the breakfast burrito and we sampled some of their house made chai tea and the house made hot sauce and both left my tastebuds happy. To top off the morning we enjoyed a wonderful handmade almond poppyseed scone while enjoying good conversation and a nice view of the bay. If you’re planning to visit Yachats or you’re a local and want to support a locally owned business that’s working with other local businesses to bring you the best food options around make sure to stop in and check out the Beach Street Kitchen!!! Thank you for the wonderful experience guys and looking forward to dining with...
